If you look at it this way, it’s easier than GW1 obsidian armor. 120 ectos and shards were beyond not cheap to buy. It took me a year to get drops make little money buy some from people as trade and money was harder to earn since they didn’t introduce a trade post. Though I do agree the insane amount of essences you need is high, for a legendary armor I expected to be a very long journey. I wanted raid armor but that required a great team and to do what, a limited per week for legendary insights. Yea this obsidian is most likely the most time consuming armor to get but hey if you did most stuff, story’s and got nothing to do, time to rift hunt for months.

And sry but almost every map on gw2 is well populated, you get the complete base game for free, the leveling is extremly fast, i hit level 80 after playing just half of the base game... You just play it wrong. Gw2 is not a game to rush into lategame on a straight path, its a game to explore the world, to choose your own sidequests, search for nice skins or achievements, enjoy beautiful vistas, starting legendary weapons... I have like a gazillion goals in the game and none of it is leveling, it just happens while you do your thing and before you realise it you hit 80 ^^

I have quit gw2 like 10 times already, thats the best thing about the game, you can quit whenever you want, for weeks, month or years, and come back with a lot of new content to play with no need to grind for weeks for new levels or gear first. I love it so much, its the perfect game for adults with familys, jobs and other things that sometimes stop you from playing for a while. Some of my friends played WOW for example and most of them havent played it in years, every time they try to play again they just give up when they see how much they have to grind before beeing able to play the endgame again...

You can also now add the token obtained from janthir wilds for 250 of either wood, mithril or cloth which should be an easy one too if you have extra laying around

I need to suggest that people check the value of the T5 mat they use, the T6 sale value as well as the dust value. At the moment I think you need to be able to sell the T6 mat for more than 30s, which none of them are worth right now

In all honesty, you aren't actually supposed to even play the first 4 DLCs of the game (living world season 1, season 2, Heart of Thorns, season 3) with mounts at all (let alone core game lol) and in fact having mounts does take away some of the fun experiences and trivializes parts of the gameplay. You aren't getting the full experience if you start off with mounts. The fact that they're already giving you a raptor at level 10 (when previously it was only meant to be a lvl 80 thing at the 5th DLC that's Path of Fire) is already honestly super generous. So if you aren't able to buy any expansions yet, that's actually great since you get to really enjoy the game in its most original and authentic state^^

@@SSwizzyMusic if it helps, the core game (and the first expansion Heart of Thorns) is meant to be played without mounts, so you’re actually getting the best experience for the game that way. A lot of the base game’s little vistas or puzzles are trivialized if you have the mounts. I made a second account some time ago and honestly going through it again without mounts was a blast! So don’t rush with getting mounts, take your time enjoying the base game, since you only get to experience a game the first time once :)

Why gw2 fanboys are so mad? You literally spend 10k+ hours ingame, almost living there. No-one has to go through your experience to make an IMPRESSION (not a full review) on your favourite game. People be absolutely outrageous about a youtuber speaking of their favourite game while not spending his life just to be pro at every aspect of this game. Like cmon, your ego is so fragile? Go get some fresh air, touch a grass or something like that.

i had to try a few classes before, i level guardian and ranger till 30 them i went to the elementalist and now i'm 60 really cool class, btw i don't think that going in to pvp and having everything unlocked to test is good because you will be overwelmed with information and skills you didn't had the time to experience one by one, play like an hour with the class to see if you like it, i think is way better that way to be slowly introduced

Just started playing before dragon bash, and boy howdy... Not having a mount makes it hard to keep up. I just hit lvl 80 on a free account and I'm probably going to buy an expansion(s) just for the mount. As a guardian main, which expansion should I buy first?

Path of fire is the basic mount expansion whic is useful for many ocassion pathof fire and heart of thorns it is combo pack when i bought it.

I'm really upset I can't get into my old account with 5 leveled 80 characters. I also haven't even played the game since Mounts have came out. Time to start over? 😂 I do love flying in games, & that always put me off when it came to GW2. (No mounts or flying at the time) I tried WoW but had a lot of time in GW2. My favorite MMO's were Perfect world, GW2 & RuneScape. I'm now coming back to GW2 & I guess I'm restarting because there is no chance of getting my old account back at this point.

So I did RIBA the first time today in a group from the Group Finder. After all events were done, the group leader opened all bandit chests and placed nice symbols on the map. I opened all the chests, got a lot of stuff and sold it to a Silver Wastes merchant. But I got only about 2G in total? What's with the 12-18G people in forums and videos are talking about? Is there an additional trick? Thanks

I just picked elementalist for fun as my first character. Needless to say, most of the time I had no idea what the hell I was supposed to do. Dropped the game, came back after few years and picked elementalist again and this time it went slightly better. I am still not perfect but at least, I now know how to deal with specific situations and what I am supposed to do where. I highly recommend that people don't play elementalist for their first character at all.

Late reply, but for anyone else reading this (I assume OP already knows the answer) you will have access to raptor, springer, skimmer, jackal, Warclaw and griffon if you own Path of Fire. Living World Season 4 has roller beetle and skyscale End of Dragons has Siege Turtle Secrets of the Obscure also gives a lesser version of the skyscale (it doesn’t have all skills)

I think there's always an argument of time saved vs passive income. I don't generally bother harvesting all nodes, but with one of the (cheaper) glyphs that saves time instead of giving extra resources, my income increases because I'm losing less time by harvesting everything. Glyph of the Timekeeper is very underrated for this, especially as it seems to be bugged into triggering more often when dismounting, and Glyph of the Crucible will double (Mithril nodes) or treble (Elder Wood nodes) your income from the most common level 80 nodes.

As an ex Warrior main I liked the greatsword better than the frostbow. Also I always saw my hits on the boss's lifebar so I let someone else pick it up :D
