I bought a 2015 C7 Corvette Stingray. I absolutely loved her. I totaled it one week shy of having it for three years. I bought my new C8 Corvette HTC in October of 2023. Originally, I had ordered a 2023 model. I was notified in July of 2023 that I would be getting the new 2024 model. I absolutely love ❤️ my C8 Corvette HTC. Thank you for the great video.

The name of his home town is La-Chaux-de-Fonds, nothing to do with a pond. There still are people called Chevrolet living in that part of Switzerland. I assumed the logo was a stylized cross from the Swiss flag, but maybe I'm wrong.

In the 1950s, a used Chevrolet brought $500 or more in resale than a comparable Ford or Chrysler product. In those days, GM products were better engineered and the market reflected that fact.

I don't know if people actually like feel really bad that he didn't get any compensation for the use of his name but in all honesty, he shouldn't have. That's what happens whenever you forfeit your shares and your name like that. No, you're not going to get any compensation... Keep in mind automotive industry but still pretty much in its infancy at this point. Big name companies for a long time for selling high-end luxury expensive models for the Rich and wealthy. These more or less were just a toy or a novelty for well-off individuals. People like Billy Durant and Henry Ford saw it differently. They wanted the average working person to have a vehicle. Obviously if you're going to build a cheap car for the mass people you're going to make more money at it. That's what business is all about making money.

I’m a grumpy old man who knows a little about cars from 25 years as an auto journalist. EVs are fine as religious devotional. Also they are fast and quiet. But there’s no free lunch. The grid cannot support a major charging infrastructure no matter how hard you pray. Guess who will pay for that? Build power plants all you like it’s the grid that’s the weak link. And power generation at scale depends on fossil fuels. Lithium is a devil’s bargain. A lithium battery fire is nearly impossible to extinguish. Not to mention hot enough to smelt steel. Range boasts are just BS in cold weather. Ask the man that owns one. Wanna get in line at a charging station behind 5 or 10 unoccupied cars each hogging the thing for 40 minutes? Hope you’re retired with nothing better to do. Charging points mark my words will soon earn the name since there will be no limit on how much they can charge you per juice up. Good ole supply and demand.

You saying the V8 engine was Fords triumph is misleading. It implies that Ford created the first though other V8s existed befor Ford's. Cadillacs had V8 starting in 1915 and Chevrolet had V8s from 1917-1919 for example.

Iaccoca was the one who got credit, the real engineer, who brought those cars along was Don Frey. Hank was hardly jealous of Lee, he gave Lee the keys to the company and Lee, made a mess.

@@8corymix8 you have NO idea what was going on. But that's OK, I'm sure you are younger than me, and weren't there, so you have a different opinion. But if you study what happened, you will see Lee created his own mess, and blamed others.

The guy who saved Chrysler was Hal Sperlich, who left Ford, and was hired by Chrysler. Hal is the father of the K car and the mini van, Lee came along and promoted them , but it was Hal Sperlich, who did the planning and design, before Lee even got to Chrysler.

I read somewhere that, despite the high price of modern Bugattis, the brand spent so much developing it, that they loose money in each car they sell. It was that expensive to make them. Great video, thank you!

Henry Ford started Ford motor company he is credited Wirth starting Ford. Louis chevrolet was a well known race car driver Gm wanted a name that would catch people's attention. At first chevrolet did not compete with Ford it was a much higher line car. Later they began to compete with Ford and overall still produced a higher quality car.

I owned and maintained both a 900S and a 900turbo. Unusual automobiles. The forward facing drive shafts, the clutch assemblies, the electrical systems, the part identification system. Very advanced, but quirky. The transmission in The automatically by Borg Warner was not up to the torque output of the 900. The manual transmission shifted only after saying a prayer. Still, I loved these cars. The not so silent silent chain that connected the engine to the tranny made such a sweet wine, along with the turbo. Those days are gone.

Missed a couple of key points, Durant was booted out of GM in 1909, then partnered with L. Chevrolet in 1911 where he bought out Louis in 1911 and used profits from Chevrolet to buy up GM shares and gain control of GM a second time in 1916.
