I don't know if you've used it since but for lasting results the back of the brush is the plate so its not just tension that is required the hair must be pressed firmly against the back from start to finish.

As I get older, I feel like the things that "trigger" people tend to be something they ponder with or struggle to accept within themselves. For them to be natural warriors, its crazy how invested and obsessed they are with content unrelated to their worldview. They secretly admire straight naturals for being unapologetic especially when straight naturals are retaining length while theirs break off from SSK. Not all of them, but alot of them are at the same length for years while straight naturals are saving time and retaining inches.

Do you use the bond repair before or after deep conditioning. Or do you bond repair in replace of deep conditioning?

So the bond treatment is done before washing! So I’ll do Olaplex or Boldplex, Wash then condition.

Sorry if you’ve been asked this a bunch, but how often do you straighten your hair? Looks great!! Have you found that using flexi rods has been better than wrapping your hair? I notice that most straight-naturals wrap their hair at night.
@ZeneseAshley
@ZeneseAshley 14 күн бұрын
I typically straighten it about every 3 weeks! I like using the flexi rods over wrapping as it allows my silk press to last a bit longer in my experience. When I would wrap it at night I felt my silk press would get oily alot faster bc when you hair is wrapped its laying on top of itself for hours allowing the natural oils that your hair produces to travel throughout all of your hair

Hey girl. How do you keep your hair moisturized without reverting your silk press. When I silk press my hair, it is dry and breaks whenever combing it, but if I put moisturizer it reverts. What do you suggest?
@ZeneseAshley
@ZeneseAshley 17 күн бұрын
When silk pressing your hair are you deep conditioning or using some sort of bond repair treatment? Thats going to help lock in moisture in your hair strands. And what kind of moisturizer are you using? Anything that’s heavily water based, using that on a silk press is for sure going to have your hair reverting?
@renrobinson4429
@renrobinson4429 17 күн бұрын
@@ZeneseAshley I think you’ve solve my problem. I’ve tried a number of products for moisturizing such as aunt Jackie’s knot on my watch in small amounts, however that is water based. To avoid reverting I’ve even resorted to using blue magic or the olive oil sheen spray in an attempt to get some type of moisture to my hair but to no avail. I must admit I’m not always consistent with deep conditioning so I’ll have to change that and I don’t think I’ve ever used a bond repair treatment before.
@ZeneseAshley
@ZeneseAshley 17 күн бұрын
@@renrobinson4429 yeah if you’re using the Aunt Jackie’s Knot on My Watch that’s more of a detangling products so you’re hair is meant to be wet so definitely causing the reverting of your hair. I would for sure recommend deep conditioning before doing your silk press and then bond repair treatments I use are Olaplex, K18 and Boldplex! I have reviews on all of them on my channel if you need a point of reference. Hope this is helpful! 🥰

I don’t get the point of making sure you guys put heat protecting in it if a flat iron and hot tools are still going to damage your curls. You’re a straight natural so what’s the point of putting protectant on it. Protectant is suppose to protect your hair from getting damaged and damaging your curl along with your texture and all of that’. I don’t see a point of using protectant if your a straight hair natural 🤷🏽‍♀️
