Hope you can get it working, damn things are expensive and recently went up in price. There's also Bluetooth adapters (with no noticeable lag) that lets you use them on PS1/PS2 if you want to get one for yourself
@wolfmanrepairs6 күн бұрын
I hope I get it working too!! I will have to look into a Bluetooth adapter!! That would be pretty neat!! 🐺🐺😁😁

Desoldering is a pain in the butt, I don't have a desoldering gun and looking at this video I may not need one after all.
@wolfmanrepairs6 күн бұрын
Yeah I can never get this one to work the way I want it to work!! Low melt sold and braid is all you really need!! 🐺🐺😁😁
@Dub-C-307 күн бұрын
i'm guessing that mountain dew you cleaned got to the button ribbon. i would give that a good cleaning. Also when putting in new toggles, let the board cool down before installing the new ones. I've done mine like you did while it was hot and come to find out that the board melts the plastic bottoms of those toggles and screws up the drift again.
I will have to take it apart again and check for liquid damage!! I didn’t think of that when I saw all that Mountain Dew!! Hopefully I didn’t melt the new ones!! Thank you for the video as well!! 🐺🐺🐺😁😁😁

I think you need to calibrate the sticks when you change them. At least I had to.

Hey Nick, I recommend trying a different gamepad tester. I recall having the same issue when using the one that you used in this video. The controller might be fine.
@frozerinosrepairs8 күн бұрын
Yeah I agree 100%. Also you can connected with Bluetooth with your phone and test it .
@wolfmanrepairs7 күн бұрын
I tried a bunch of gamepad testers online and they are all showing the same thing. I haven’t tried the phone. I will have to look into that one!! Thanks!! 🐺🐺😁😁

I would try resetting the controller by poking a pin in the hole on the back of the controller, next to the Sony logo. Hold for 5 seconds to reset the controller. Failing that, look into updating the firmware with Sony's updater tool for Windows. Great video, btw!
@wolfmanrepairs7 күн бұрын
Thank you!! I tried both of those things. The controller is up to date and I reset it a bunch of times. Still no dice… 🐺🐺😁😁

Oh deuce. I thought for sure that was it. Gotta find that analog circuitry and poke at it a bit. Best of luck!

It might need to be recalibrated? There's a program on Github called DualShock Tools that might help.

you could try to update it may fix it if not check for liquid damage😉

I don't have any insight into fixing the controller, but that music while you were soldering the sticks was great. Looking forward to a followup where you're able to fix it.

Thank you!! I wish I could take credit for the music. That’s one of my favorite royalty free tracks!! Hopefully there will be a followup video where I fix this controller!! 🐺🐺🐺😁😁😁

I can't find 5v leds anywhere that don't come bundles with a huge heap of wires attached. Where u grab em?
@wolfmanrepairs8 күн бұрын
Looking back on it I’m not sure if the LEDs I used were 5v. I got them out of a kit of components. KZbin is funny about links in comments so I put the link to the kit in the video description. Hope that helps🐺🐺🐺😁😁😁

You're a master with those tweezers. I've tried scraping solder mask once, on a GBC, using a dental pick and it peeled the trace! I was able to repair it with a small wire (thanks to your videos!), but I haven't tried scraping solder mask since 😂
@wolfmanrepairs11 күн бұрын
Thank you!! I’ve pulled traces up as well using the tweezers. But I fell like if the trace pulls up just from scratching the solder mask off that it was going to pull up anyway. I’m glad you were able to fix it!! 🐺🐺🐺😁😁😁
@rubenmejia488114 күн бұрын
Great work Wolfman! I think a good small upgrade would be to look into a grinding pen 🖊 I used to use tweezers myself starting off but after switching its made removing solder mask easier and fun lol 😆 keep up with the great content buddy! I'm looking forward to ordering one of the Wolfman gameboy cartridges soon
@wolfmanrepairs13 күн бұрын
Thank you!! I’ve been looking into getting one of those. North ridge fix has one that I’ve had my eye on for a while. What model of grinding pen do you have? That’s awesome!!! My brothers did an amazing job on that cartridge it’s a very handy tool to have!! 🐺🐺🐺🐺😁😁😁

@wolfmanrepairs I got the same one he does at a much cheaper price from the big A online. I can't type the name. I guess that's why my comment got deleted 🤷♂️ But it was around 20 dollars, and it came with a lot of extra bits it was a really great purchase. Save some money that way because he's charging almost double for it and it comes with less.
@rubenmejia488112 күн бұрын
@wolfmanrepairs engraving pen is what it came up as on Amazon. I guess I got mine while on a sale. I don't remember paying more than $20 so around there to $30 should be fine.

Love it. Brah keep your iron on that corrosive area before you add flux and tin, the tin will soak much better into all the bad area making your process easier and faster. Im not a know it all i just learned that strat like 2 weeks ago and was like dayummmmm 😅

The original carburetor has a adjustment screw it's under the plastic plug beside the green tube just have to take the plastic plug out and unscrew it to give it more gas When it's dying it has 2 plastic plugs with screws under them 🎉
