@strokerecovery-rehabjourne1368 .Hello ! I'm from Southern California..I do isolated strength exercises for my left side leg and arm,,and take nightly walks w cane,,,The small hand coordination exercises is what I should have been doing..instead I was told to use the colored putty and to always use affected hand for improvement,,but now I realize that's not enough..My pinky and index fingers are starting to curl up or straighten out too much...lol..these post stroke body parts require more maintenance than ford taurus😉...thank you for the response 👍👍

@@markargeldeguzman6360 Hi Mark, it is a long journey requiring countless of hours completing repetitive activities. We have to teach our body how to behave once again. Don't judge you progress in comparison to others - each stroke recovery is different. Of I was to offer advice, it would be : 1. Celebrate even the smallest progression. This will create a positive emotions; response resulting in the ongoing yndertaking of the repetitive physical exercises. 2. If you can, film your sessions and compare the progress you are making. In many cases. you will noticwe that your progression is greater than you give yourself credit for. Best wishes, John

Eliza, the emotional upheaval continues although I am now more equiped to cope with the ups & downs. The journey, as you very well know, is very challenging, and there is no rule book to follow. Keep on exercising and if you fall down, get up again and keep on fighting on what is important to you (i have fallen many times). Rehab is built on repetition-never give up regardless of how frustrating it is - the hard work will eventually lead to improvement. Where are you located? All the best. John
