in about 2012 when gladiator beasts were popular and brionic wasn't banned I usually played zombies in highschool. i liked il blud and zombies eyes. afterwards my tastes developed to simochi burns, I liked lock down decks like darkness simorg and last warrior from another planet. I had a satlite cannon deck. I had a self destruct button deck that uses a exodia engine. but what I really liked was my darkness neosphere beast king machine barbaros deck. which still fortunately is till playable today. nowadays I usually play machine reinforce in a FTK reasoning mill using goldilocks. or like a normal train deck. 10 years ago I would have valued rank 7 xyz for big eye using fusalier dragon a lvl 7 machine that can be normal summoned and eventually tribute with great maju giving it allot of attack and if someone attacked a battle fader or the maju I could summon darkness neosphere... unfortunately neosphere isn't as viable anymore... and THAT sucks. I think most can be remedied by filling in old forgotten types like sphynx monsters. its been about a month but I just picked up magic arena. and put down master duel.

most yugioh criticisms like this come from people who watched the show and at best, only ever played on the playground as kids, never for real and by the real rules. there is a lot to be said about the state of the game and how oppressive the top decks are to play against, how its all about OTKs and how steep the learning curve is. but this is just nothing but bitching from somone who's investment clearly stopped at the anime because his favorite archetype was never good in the firstplace for one thing so you know he never really played.

Modern Yu-Gi-Oh is balance. Plenty of decks is a threat and can blow you out if you make single misplay. There is at least one meta deck that you'll enjoy playing.

10 min turns, too many search cards, unlimited summons. It feels scripted. It's not that the game became too complex. It simply became less fun if you're trying to play competitively. If you just play fun decks with your buddies, then it's true, there's nothing like it.

My dream is that Master Duel adds options to play without all the stupid shit they added that I don't care about like Pendulum, Link and Synchro.

ygo pro play is basically the first turn you or your opponet builds a Fortress and in your or his 2nd turn your goal is to invade that fortress

can confirm this is how yu-gi-oh feels now, used to play around 2000-2005 ish or smth before synchro came out, gf and me bought some job lot cards to play for fun only to find encyclopedia Britannica card texts and all sorts of insane effects on cards, we decided to just play with old cards or we deem not silly, we might think about adding synchro soon if it isn't too much xD collecting the cards is fun anyway because the art is still so cool even if i dont understand them :P

Easy way to fix modern Yu-Gi-Oh is a summon limit. Limit it to 5 summons per turn and boom. Boards can't be so oppressive.

I just started playing/collecting again and I can confirm that they newer cards have me confused as hell. My first complete deck is going to be Crystal Beast, I just need two more structure decks which are being shipped to me. I think Relinquished was my favorite card I ever had. The effect was really cool and the illustration was BA in my opinion.

I have the theory that this game was never really designed or balanced to begin with. It took years, before proper decks with some form of synergy came out and the lack of balance haunts this game to this day.

i've been using nvidia geforce now for 4 years, the experience has been smooth since the initial testing phase. At some point I was considering stadia becaues bg3 was exclusive on stadia, but I got confused at sign up page. It seems to be the norm that google products are extremely confusing. Even with google map, sometimes recommandation related page pop up on my phone, I'm not interested to interact with it, and I'm confused how to close the tab. At work we moved our computation infrastructure from AWS to google cloud, and it has been extremely confusing/ frustrating since then. IDK... they have the best talents of the world, but it seems that they are against making things user friendly nowadays.
