To get the paint off the plate, you must let the layer you're going to pull with dry which adheres the paper and the paint on the plate together. If the paint between the paper and the plate is wet, it will just separate. Imagine if you were gluing two things together. You would not pull it apart while the glue was still wet. The paint acts as a glue adhering the paint on the plate and the paper together, but it must be dry to stick everything to the paper.

I love your compositions! I came here from your first collage with the leaf patterns, which I think was perfection! I'm curious as to why you don't let your paint dry between coats when gel printing. Your final image is splendid, so it's a me thing, not a you thing, but I would love if you could explain how/why you make that choice. Thanks!

I was surprised that the balloon didn't stick to the tp. 😮 That looks like a project my grandson and I might do but i'll have to remember it and maybe connect it to his study of the planets or whatever! It will take longer than the 2 days we have before school starts! Congratulations on your retirement. I retired (the first time) 10 years ago (May 2014) but I went back 4 times! But finally in 2017 i got it done! I tell people it took me that long to figure retirement out. I have enjoyed the last few years but it was really a challenge at first. Enjoy yours quicker than I did. ❤❤❤

We would tie-dye t-shirts at the camp i was a nurse for. It was Deaf teenager at camp for a week. It was great fun and I loved the different colors put together and the patterns from the different folds. Fascinating. The onion skins did a terrific job. I like the color variations. Nice job TFS ❤❤❤

That shirt came out beautiful. I like that you use natural elements to dye. I've never thought of using the onion skins to leave an impression on the papers.
