EXCELLENT! A beautiful collage. I like the concept of working with one stencil and a limited color palette, a great idea for the prompt this month. Myriam Wulf makes lovely stencils and is a very talented artist as well.

At first I wasn’t sure if the papers would look good together UNTIL you added the focal points. Then the subtle differences among the background papers really popped!

I’m loving the colors you’re using , my dining/room walls close to rust colors. My husband collects maps which cover the walls some has copper and teal colors. It compliments each other very nice.

Brilliant video, I adore your approach to achieve painty papers. Very fun and unique. Very different from mine and so inspiring. You made me laugh when you said you weren’t patient. I’ve wanted to see the baby powder resist technique for a while. Fabulous.

I love your compositions! I came here from your first collage with the leaf patterns, which I think was perfection! I'm curious as to why you don't let your paint dry between coats when gel printing. Your final image is splendid, so it's a me thing, not a you thing, but I would love if you could explain how/why you make that choice. Thanks!
@cIvy7264 ай бұрын
Is it because you do not want the stencil impression to be too sharp and precise? I understand how well that works in the final image.
@TwoOldCrowsMixedMedia4 ай бұрын
I think you’re right, it’s a me thing and while I think the perfection of a gel print is beautiful, I also like that grungy hint of an image. Additionally, I like to keep moving, so it is a patience thing as well. Great question!

@@TwoOldCrowsMixedMedia Whatever the case, and I looked at a number of your gel plate videos, your collages are beautiful and you should, of course, just do what you do. :0)

I’m new to the gel plate… is there ever a time where you let a layer dry before you add another layer of paint? I didn’t see a link to your amazon storefront, that would be super helpful😀
@TwoOldCrowsMixedMedia7 ай бұрын
Yes, many do let the layers dry. I like to keep the paint thin and let it dry to the touch. The drying time depends on type of paint and climate so it does vary from user to user. The link for the storefront should be in the description but to make it easier here is a shortcut :-) www.amazon.com/shop/twooldcrowsmixedmedia

How do you mix your PVA glue and water? Do you find it holds better over time?
@TwoOldCrowsMixedMedia7 ай бұрын
I have a plywood board that I covered in paint and paper and used my pva and water mixture-it’s been in the weather for 3 years and as I watered the plants on the porch this morning was thinking about refreshing it! But nothing is coming off; still holding in there. I use 2/3 glue to 1/3 water; or just enough water to get it to the consistency I like!
