When I was doing all remembrances using only Legendary items I had to do some of the bosses with spells. I did Radahn with Stars of Ruin only. Placidusax with Ranni’s Dark Moon, and Maliketh with the Founding Rain of Stars. Was honestly not bad despite how situational the spells can be.

If you ever have to get items in the lava again, try infusing the black iron greatshield that Tarkus drops. With fire infusion, you can just hold block and waltz into the lava

Honestly surprised ya didn’t get great lightning spear, would have made everything after Dancer a bit easier. The bonfire not far after the ladder up out of Dancer’s arena has easy access to a Lothric Knight with his back to you, and he drops sunlight medals with a surprisingly decent drop rate. Being a Sunbro early on to get the 30 medals ahead of time is also a good option if you’re allowing yourself to do so. Btw, as a certified Midir lover, the “proper” way to fight him with Sunlight Spear is to use it like a melee weapon. Staying in front of his nose prevents him from doing his most annoying, hard to dodge attacks (like the fire sweeps directly underneath him when you are too close to his toes, or the laser show when you get too far away). Spamming just the projectile at close to the spells max range is doing yourself a disservice, if you play completely into the gimmick of the fight (stay in front of his nose as much as possible) you’ll notice just how consistent of a pattern Midir has, and how generous his tell really are.

pyromancy is the most powerfull of the 3 spell types in this game and its not even funny. its actually tragic how you get the most powerfull dmg spells for it by literally midgame while something like miracles are stuck with only lightning spear whose base dmg is LOWER than FIREBALL and costs nearly DOUBLE the mana plus cast time. also they only get said dmg miracle which is the first one ever at the door of the first major boss. this game has some really weird progress choices probably because at some point they might have thought about being like DS2 where you could choose your route to an extent freely but then changed it midway through the myriad of crunches.

Pyromancies are objectively better than the other 2 types of spells in DS3 anyway so no surprise this is possible. Game even hands you the mist powerfull offensive ones literally in the midgame meanwhile miracles only have a spell with a weaker base dmg than FIREBALL with nesrly twice the FP cost and slower cast and only obtainable at basically the door of the first lord boss. I really dont understand the balance designs philosophy in this game sometimes.

Tip - for the crystal sage you can use any poison weapon or simply buy poison knives from the merchant ( don't know her name) make him poisoned and stand behind the pillars. It will take time but it's the easiest way so just be patient

KZbin really gone to shit. I was looking for any interesting runs of AC6 since almost its release, and never once saw this. It was the same few channels with the same old videos on top of the list of search results and completely irrelevant shit further down. DS2 miracles were so strong and DS3 not only broke one of its legs but ripped out the other one. Theyre too costly in mana and stat investment, are found much later than the other 2 types equivalents, and are usually hard to use and have much lower damage scaling only picking up near the softcaps peaks or are gimped by gimmicks like the lightning spears melee extra hit which is cool but not only the damage without it is trash, but even then its not too much higher than just using great heavy soul arrow or chucking fire orbs or great combustion spamming, all available at the same time you get your hands on the first damaging miracle.

I recently did some damage testing with ring combos on xbox one with great chaos fireball (the spell hits twice ideally so i added both values together for a total damage) Heres what i found, 0 rings- 426 Fire clutch ring only- 490 Lloyd ring only - 481 Witches ring only - 536 Witch ring and clutch ring - 441 Witch, lloyd, clutch- 494 Lloyd, witch - 430 Witch, priestess, scholar- 571 So basically for some reason the clutch ring with the witch ring actually negates damage rather than boosting it on top of the boost and its more beneficial to raise intel and faith along with the witch ring to maximize the damage output. Witch ring by itself is better than 4 damage boosting rings combined. So it is better to use the extra 2 slots with better scaling or fp increase/cost reduction rings because then you get way more casts along with the huge damage increase that the witches ring offers. I dont have the swamp ring on my main character so idk how that one would alter the damage values but i assume that swamp + witch + int + faith rings is much higher than if you add in the clutch and lloyd ring. This is assuming you always have one ring slot occupied by the untrue dark ring to avoid being a beef jerky beta
