Strange quirk about the Caestus. Despite supposedly being a Quality weapon, going Sharp is better than going Refined. If you take the points you would put into Str, and instead go full Dex, you’ll get more damage with Sharp Dex 70, than with Refined 40/40. This also synchronizes well with all the claw weapons, if you want variety and bleed. The Demon’s Fist is unique, and is honestly more a Pyro weapon, as it gets hardly anything from Str scaling, but scales well with Int/Faith. Another bit of trivia for new players to know. Paired weapons, or weapons that dual wield when two handed, do not get the Str x1.5 bonus for two handing. So if you thought the Caestus could benefit more from Refined while two handed, it sadly does not.

Also it's better for the caestus to be lightning and build it based on faith with some points into strength. Lots of bosses have weaknesses to lightning and I think only 2 resist it. But usually you can use either dark hand or demon fist to do the job

@@grimthedeathlord8998 No, it’s always been 1.5. Even DS2. Two handing calculates Str by +50%. This is why for Str builds, 66 is considered the max ever needed, because that equals 99 when two handed. But for paired weapons in DS3, it doesn’t get anything extra.

11:20 You could've used the demon fist to parry, that's what I did in my run, but with the caestus since I upgraded the demon fist to use against bosses weak to fire Also the Pontiff's Right Eye really helps in this run

Man your videos are the best! Keep up the good work and you will be super big in no time! In the mean time I have an idea for you, can you beat every DS3 boss with +100% equip load? (Obviously not including Gundyr as I think its not possible to get +100% equip load before him) You would be super slow and couldn't roll, so I guess the strategy to beat the game would be to get a 100 physical block shield with very high stability and block everything you can, then attack with whatever weapon, a spear would be optimal. You couldn't run past enemies as you would be SUPER slow, I guess you would go insane Im not sure if it would be possible to beat the game at all... Using a dagger weapon art would be considered cheating? This is super different to what we have seen so I think it would be super interesting! If the run is too difficult then what about a shield only run? :)

I actually did a really similar play through just recently, except with faith added as I was doing a monk character, so fists and faith. And boy it was kinda difficult but very fun. The L1 attack for dual wielding fist weapons is a LOT of fun

there's actually a pretty fun strategy you can use with caestus on some bosses. you stack a lot of defense (for whatever it's worth with the diminishing returns), as well as stamina and hp, you equip the pontif right eye to heal when you hit a lot, and then you just use the weapon art and go to town on the boss with the power armor. many bosses will eventually be staggered, and trading hp with them can be a net positive if you know when to pull out to heal before dying, and proc the pontif right eye well.

Ceastus is my favorite weapon in the game. Its pretty easy when you know what you are doing. Take caestus, infuse it with Raw gem, put 40 points into Vigor and into Endurance. Lvl up caestus, dual wield it and spam the right click. It does a lot of stamina damage to shielded enemies, and it stun locks those, who are "human size". 10/10 weapon
