The biggest mistake the USA ever made was not letting the South secede. They should have avoided the whole Civil War and just let the South go off and form, what would today be, Second or North Mexico. They would be just as impoverished, but they wouldn't be weighing down the rest of the country. Meanwhile, the North would be free to become Second or South Canada, and would likely be wealthy and free from the burden of subsidizing the South. It's an absolute riot reading the comments about how hypocritical churches and Christians are. When Hurricane Helene caused the deadly floiding in western North Carolina and east Tennessee a few weeks ago, it was the religious affiliated organizations (Samaritans Purse; Baptist Relief; Catholic Charities; Mennonite Disaster Relief; etc., as well as countless individual church volunteers from throughout the nation) that were first to the rescue and are STILL on site after these many weeks. Government action arrived several days afterward. No help was sert from The Freedom From Religion Foundation, The American Athiests, The Athiest Alliance, or any similar organization. And Christians are the hypocrites? Good Lord!

After watching this I think many non-Japanese countries need to take lessons from Japan. Their efforts are very commendable and humane in intent. Somewhere safe and taleast private to sleep and at least wash is much better than sleeping rough on the streets.

But I well paid employed person living in less than 20 sq m apartment is considered a home. Japanese prison cell of 16 sq m for 10 persons that isn't a home.
