Poverty and homelessness are not related. The most impoverished part of the us, west virginia , has the lowest rate of homelessness in the us. The same applies in europe too. Homelessness in western countries is a result of affluence. If a place has lots of well paying employment, lots of people move there. If there isnt enough housing supply added to accomidate these newcommers(and residents getting pushed out by newcommers) , or if they cant get to the desired jobs and dont have the means to go back to where they came from, thats the demograhic that turns homeless. Poverty and homelessness, are contrary to popular perception , inversely related. Places with less poverty are more likely to have homelessness issues

As an American that visits Quebec frequently and picked up the language because of it I enjoy being able to travel 5-6 hours in a car and feel like I’m in a completely different country. I’m natively bilingual so going south of the border wouldn’t be the craziest culture shock especially since that’s the culture I grew up in through my household.
