Hello brother, just to ask, did you disassembled the entire engine and clean inside like clutch plates, throttle area or you just remove the cover but leave the rest inside as it is and paint?
@RogerEmmelstein9 ай бұрын
that powder coat sure looks crappy, didn't you send it back for a full redo? This vid sure taught me to first send a sample to evaluate the quality of the work.

wow, are you willing to share the model? It seems like an awesome lot of work to get it digitized but the flexibility you get is endless. And ideally you would only need to do it once.

Welcome to SF! I'm embarking on my very own K1100 build starting this month. Your progress has inspired me, and I'm hopeful to see more eventually! I hope you're doing well. 🚲

Looks really good, I'm kind of late to the party here but are the solidworks drawings from the cafe racer bible accurate in terms of dimensions or is it an approximation we are supposed to tailor their designs to the frames as you have done?

Love watching your videos! Very informative and inspirational. I too hope do a build revolving around a Bmw k series. Why not try a pressure washer?

The powder coating on those covers is horrible, you're right. Bad overspray and the finish on the coating is horrible. I worked at a powder coating shop for a while and I've powdered used farm equipment that looked way nicer than that. I wouldn't have paid for that powder job.

Hey Josh, love the build. I’m curious, where did you get the motorcycle lift?
@CURV-LAB2 жыл бұрын
Harbor Freight! Its an excellent lift for the price. Just make sure to use the shaft that inserts under the lift and takes the weight off of the hydraulics, if its holding weight long term. No issues so far with 3 years of use.

Hi Josh... I'm from Africa, Ghana to be precise..just recently started watching your videos and I must say I'm impressed and motivated. I already have a k1100 cafe but I also recently acquired a k100 which has been sitting idle for years and lacks a lot of parts but in determined to build it. It would be nice to get some guidance from someone who's been in the biz longer than I have so if you wouldn't mind, kindly drop an email or a means I can reach you faster if I have questions...peace bro
