Black Comet Hero is cannon, the killed Eggman is a fake (i.e. Sonic Heroes). It's left pretty open of what Shadow is going to do afterwards as if it's leading to something else.

Shadow doesn't do what anyone tells him to? Weird i couldve sworn his first appearance was SA2, where he listened to Eggman and did what he told him to on quite a few occassions.

One of my many favourite parts was in the first level, after you defeat the giant cannon on the ARK, and seeing that old door aesthetic like SA2, the Artificial Chaos, and that whole section of the ARK. Gave me MAD nostalgia. That and also finding out the Black Moon wasn't the final boss, the mystery of how Black Doom returned to begin with still being unsolved, AND that Maria and Gerald were real and not illusions by Infinite like I accidentally implied in your chat once. WHEW. Glad it was the real them!

Right off the bat i think you're on the wrong track. I personally think he'd totally help out Black Doom in Westopolis. Without any outside influence, he already thinks of humans as some pathetic race. Then this weird alien shows up who not only knows Shadow's name but hints at his past by saying "...as promised.". From the very first few lines Shadow expresses his desire to figure out his past and, even if nothing would come of it, he'd want to find out what Black Doom knows. No, i think he totally goes down the dark path in the first mission.

Personally I don't think that any of the paths you can take in the game encapsulate the entire journey. The entire point of the path tree is to express Shadow's shattered memories and him being pulled in all different directions while he tries to figure out who or what he wants to be. I kinda feel like if you were to ask Shadow what he did during these events he'd give you vague answers, just saying that he beat Black Doom and saved the day. If you pressed him on the details, I genuinely don't think he'd remember. Most of the things we see across all of the paths probably happened in some regard.

Intresting, how does this hold up when taking the 8 bit version into account? They're the same adventure, just showing different parts of it.

I have a suggestion for when you do the 8-bit games. You should do them all in one video! 8-bit Sonic 1 and 2, Sonic Chaos, and Sonic Blast all in one video would be great

It’s really quite simple, she’s just hot. Bat or not she’s just hot. The fact that she’s a cool character with a fun dynamic with characters like Shadow and Knuckles adds to her likability too.
