Great video with details!!! What is the number for the 9mm hinge plate you are referencing in your video? I'm trying to install hinges for full inset doors and I like how you showed the catalog with numbers. I only need a total of 8 complete hinges for my application.

Where is the machinery? Who does the finishing and where? That amount of cabinets requires more of a wood supply than you are showing. Could it be that you are outsourcing more than just door?

The window isn’t calibrated at the factory. This can affect tight dominos when you reference the center line, so it’s important to calibrate with the screws.

I am an Aerospace Engineer that enjoys working with my hand. Woodworking has always been a paradigm of artistry that has been cathartic whenever i work on a project. Its hard to describe, but i have Metalworker, Worked on complex mechanisms, electronics, but nothing soothes me more than woodworking. Im building cabinets right now, so i supposed its fortuitous that i saw your channel.

I really appreciate you making this video. I always get confused with drawer box measurements and I built 8 drawer boxes today for a vanity build with zero mistakes and finally have a method I can keep using. Appreciate it. Also…I may or may not be copying one of your white oak vanity builds. Just wish you had plans as I’ve had to watch it 100 times and screenshot a million times to figure everything out 😂.

Love your content! I don’t build but love watching video. Maybe one day 😊. The one thing I can’t figure out is the decorative toe kick looks AMAZING, but what happens if the floor is not level where you install it? Wouldn’t there be a gap from shimming it? Thank you for the video!

I’d like to point out that glue will degrade over a long period of time. The drawers will then in use come loose and probably fail. Even the nails will degrade and loosen. But you will get between 5 to 10 years out of them. The usage sliding back and forth makes the glue fail faster than something that just sits. But hey, this is what the world wants. Fast and cheap. Great video.

My house is 33 years old and the drawers are cheap melamine that are glued and Brad nailed together. They are pathetically cheap yet they are still working just fine. Dovetails are an unnecessary luxury. Spend the money elsewhere where it matters.
@donhuffer5167
@donhuffer5167 2 ай бұрын
@@erikstewart3448 Your observation of one house is anecdotal. I can show you where glue deteriorates, but the glue joint still holds because it’s a solid dovetail joint. A man wiser than me once said nails only hold themselves. At least use a screw.

Your face frame was flush with the edge of the cabinet and extended to the outside of it. Mine has the frame coming to the inner side of the cabinet. Is there something for that?

If the drawers and doors are full overlay, why spend the time making a faceframe when you could just cover the edges of the plywood walls? Seems like that would be faster, which you said is your objective.

Excellent work. Really enjoying your videos. One comment on the Blum hinges. To avoid the plywood build up you can use Blum 29mm Cruciform plate 173H9130.18. It works perfectly with inset face frames.

Does your face frame reveal need to be a specific minimum amount for these to work? It looks like it only attaches to the cabinet with a single screw, did that feel strong enough for you? Sorry for the questions, it’s hard to get info on these.

Well, you have inspired me to put in the extra effort. I am fitting some inset cabinet doors now. I usually go overlap, but I wanted that inset look for this project. Good to see that even the pros have to put in the work and there is no real shortcut. I will get to work scribing and sanding. Good thing there are only four doors on this project!
