Thanks for making these videos. I am a DIYer out in New York State and your "SAVE $$ DRAWERS MADE EASY!" video was extreeeeemely helpful. I'm going to remake my kitchen drawers per that video. (Been DIYing the kitchen for a while.) I also enjoyed the video you did explaining how to make money doing this stuff. It'd be nice to hear more details on the business side, perhaps actual numbers and other details about being a cabinet maker.

I worked in a cabinet shop for 6 months. Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy 😂 I strictly do furniture. One or two pieces at a time. Works for me!

It’s definitely a different mindset and pace that’s for sure ! 1-2 pieces i’d be bankrupt! Although I do get pleasure in a making more complex piece when there’s time.

Here ya on cabinets… my one man furniture shop seems to have turned into a one man cabinet shop. Should have never got that started but paying the bills for now. Definitely at some point though going back to my first love.

Yes it just makes the most sense from a business perspective. I happen to have a very good finisher who I trust and it allows me to produce more work In the time that would be spent finishing.

Thanks ! It’s about 85 a foot. they spray new cabinets in their shop no re finishing or on site work .

Of course I was kidding ! But I am a finish carpenter & make a fair share of cabinets ( mostly builtins or storage & full kitchens I order and install them) tell us about your tool costs and shop ! I work from a small shop ( converted garage ) and a big 3/4 ton van loaded with tools and room to haul materials! Cost ? Over a 125 G’s !
