Here we are again friend. I didn't mention it in the video, but the piece of mustard-colored knife that we found has a small channel in the middle that was surely made with some intention. I hope you notice it too. We are again in the shell area.

Every time I watch a video made by Coyote I am surprised by the different designs of artifacts found. Thousands of years often separate the time when some artifacts are made. The areas searched are vast, yet artifacts from different time periods are found in the same areas. The other thing that always surprises me is that projectile points are similar if not identical to designs found elsewhere. The Baja del Sur is a peninsula surrounded by water and I have flown over it many times and the mountains are rugged therefore a person would think the Baja was NOT easily accessible. But obviously people communicated or traded or migrated over very large distances far more than we living today can imagine. Europeans have only been in North America for 450 years which seems a long time, but compared to the Indigenous our time is very short . The Indigenous have been in North America arguably from 35 to perhaps as much as 50 times longer. That is such a very long time that climate change and weather, etc., could encourage movement of people along the length of the Baja and outside many, many times to learn new things they brought back to places their ancestors left many years or centuries before.
@coyotearrowheadhunting3083
@coyotearrowheadhunting3083 Ай бұрын
It is difficult to say with certainty what happened in the lives of the natives, but we can deduce many things from the remains we have found. By finding Las Puntas Clovis we can say that they faced those climatic changes of the last ice age, that they adapted and changed their types of life to adapt to the environment until they reached what is now a semi-desert climate here. 10,000 years or maybe more to the present day. Surely there were many groups that wandered and crossed and perhaps returned along this peninsula. They arrived from the sea and from the north. Here we have found many types of tips that perhaps no one imagined were here. WE ARE WAITING FOR YOUR RETURN MY FRIEND TO TAKE YOU TO THAT AREA OF CONCHEROS. BLESSINGS.

I saw those fine flakes, on the mustard knife, but they looked like they terminated on a median " ridge". Paleo flaking, "otre passe" (overshot, in french) was designed to reduce the pieces thickness, without reducing the width, of the piece, and the flaking would go from edge to edge, and not end on a higher spot in the middle of the piece, and form a median ridge. Fine flutelike flaking, but not Paleo flaking. The median ridge, would be more Archaic. I think... God Bless, Senor👍

Senor, You are correct! I stopped at 2:01, and there it IS! side to side, though. That IS overshot flaking! I was looking for a flute, from the bottom, up. I did not see a flute... but what you showed me is proof! It is Paleo! That is it, you are, El Hombre! God Bless your eyes! Just what I said, reduces the thickness, but not the width! She is kind of, wide😃 Very beautiful! I stand, Happily corrected, Senor! 👋🤐👍

Hello my good friend. Some natives lived here who were specialists in carving Basalt, we have a large collection of them. Here we have many very nice forked arrow and dart tips like the Frio tips. It was my mistake to name that long flake that you say as a channel. A canal is another story my friend, like those at Clovis points. Speaking of Clovis points, we have already found a total of 5. I will soon upload the video of the last one we found. Thanks for being here my friend. BLESSINGS ALWAYS.

All good buddy!!! The basalt knappers remind me of the points Indian Trace finds in North Carolina made of quartz, crystals and rhyolite…none are perfect knapping stones and all require different knapping techniques to get the job done…the results tell a huge story…as for the channel….a ‘flute’ would be the name for the unique Clovis basal flake….and I can’t wait for number 5!!! If I remember correctly…the last was the split, pink/clear one!?!!
