Looks great. What color ratio did you use for the canopy?
@scalemodelling764 күн бұрын
Well i didn't measure I just used a pipette so it was something like 3 drops of smoke and 3 drops of clear and then one drop of the orange . But to be honest I should of added a drop of red I recon instead of orange a lot of photos looks like the canopy gives off a reddish hue .

Just seen the great build of the Rodney. However as you have built it as used against the Bismarck in 1941 you have omitted the catapult on the top of X turret. The catapult was removed in the refit of 1943.

Outstanding work! Looks great! 👌 But I think, that from experience, it's always a shame that most of that beautiful cockpit detail is usually hidden after the canopy goes on. Especially with 1/72 scale.

The easiest way to separate the upper and lower hull parts on these Italeris is with a fine razor saw, e.g. Exacto. The Italeri 1/720 Graf Spee / Scheer / Deutchland / Lutzow kits were the best small scale kits of this class. It is a pity that the world moved on to 1/700 about the same time and that, except for the Italeri 1/720 Hood, the few other 1/720 WW2 ship kits are not on a par with these. The original Revell 1/720 series are poor by comparison, with poor fit of parts, e.g. the Revell Arizona / Pennsylvania, and the closest companions for the Spee class, the Revell Prinz Eugen / Hipper / Bluecher, are OK in terms of parts fit but have poorly-rendered armament. As noted elsewhere, the paints provided are wholly inadequate. Graf Spee sailed in 1939 with a dark grey hull and light grey upperworks, so at least 2 shades of grey are needed.
