Hard lines on the Short Spined Charlie mate, better luck next time. As I mentioned in one of your previous videos about remembering the features you did for Total Sea Fishing a few years back, it was bugging me that I thought I had seen you somewhere recently. I finally remembered last night and it was last summer when you came to check on my son and my tickets at Whittle Dean when we fished the Northern lake. You were telling us about the size of the Pike and Brown Trout that had been caught there in the past. Enjoy your videos, Tight lines.

Some great fish danny, I know I'm l8 to the party commenting but do you know what structure under the water attracts the fish to that particular spot. Is it the stone embankment running out into the river.

I am located in the north west near Wigan . Do you recommend any rivers or canals for decent perch ? Cheers

Can I just comment on the logic of the snags and using tungsten. You said you prefer to use tungsten but its a bit snaggy so you switched to led because you're losing rig's. The full point of tungsten is so when you lose it doesn't pollute the water like led does.......

Looks like a very nice and sturdy little boat, i would like to offer you some valuable advise regarding a bow mounted electric trolling motor with foot control, forget the foot control mate because you will regret it, first of all if you have a foot control you HAVE to have a 'pedestal' seat which is basically a seat that you insert into a pre-existing hole in your boat (which you don't have) then you kind of lean against it to take the weight off your feet, this is because you are standing on one foot whilst steering with the other foot while coping with the boat rocking back and forth and after a while your feet will ache like hell. Get the bow mount trolling motor (i had a Minkota) then buy the wireless adaptor which simply bolts to the side, it comes with a little remote about the size of a car key fob and a bunch of little plastic mounts that attach to all of your fishing rods with small cable ties, the remote clicks into these so you basically can drive and steer your boat with your thumb while fishing, when you change rods just unclip and clip it on another rod, this worked great for me as instead of having to try balancing on one foot at the bow i could fish from anywhere on the boat, hope this is of some help to you, tight lines. !

Like the idea of St Croix rods but 1 piece in 2025 is criminal.
@TheIllustratedAngler16 күн бұрын
Agree to disagree on that bud. I prefer a one piece rod. Yes it’s a bit awkward but you soon get used to it. The benefits in the improved action of a one piece rod (no flat spots in the action of the blank) outweigh the negatives. But each to their own. 🤙🏻🎣
@destro198916 күн бұрын
@@TheIllustratedAngler Does it really make that much difference? Loads of rods out of japan are 2 piece these days or at least grip + 1 piece. Never used a 1 piece so probably need to find someone who has 1 to try it out, but the hassle of storage and transport has always put me off.
@TheIllustratedAngler16 күн бұрын
I think so yeah. I do still use a handful of 2 piece rods for bits that St Croix don’t cover and I can for sure tell the difference. It shows the most when playing large fish. I had the same thoughts as you pre use of a 1 piece rod, but now I just find it the norm. I live in a modest house (no garage) and drive a smallish car and get by with one piece rods with no real issue now.
