Another two that are very effective Berkley Zilla Deep Crank and Glider and Flanker type, that side to side movement is stirring them

We have the Berkley ones in the shop now, they go to 1m and we have some more luxury ones coming next week that go to 1.3m.

Always nice to see stuff being caught on my local waters Charlie .... its interesting to see your choice of tackle, but you rarely seem to cover a very basic, but important part - the trace, arguably critical when pike fishing, particularly when bigger fish are the hoped-for target. What are you using here? - part of the reason for asking is that you appear to be running braid straight through to the lure, though I realise it could just be a quirk of the video.

I’m using an AFW 75lb Surfstrand (titanium) trace here bud, made by my good pal Rob Lawrie at Voodoo Traces. Not even considering the safety factor of the pike of running straight braid, it would be suicide for my wallet when I’m regular chucking £35+ of lures 😂 I often find it odd watching American bass videos to see how frequently they run braid right through, using big swimbaits (way more expensive than the stuff we use) knowing there’s a chance of Pike, Pickerel or Musky. Way too risky for me lol

I would love to hear your ideas and insights. It would be great to hear your opinions on fish moods and what you do when the fishing is tough. Of course everyone wants the juice on retrieves so I shan't mention that 😉. Great video, I look forward to more. All the best

Nice video again Charlie 👍🐊 I was just fishing my peto (14cm one) for the first time the other week. One thing that happened a lot though was the top treble kept catching around the trace! I don’t know whether to try some sort of stick on magnet to hold it or maybe a smaller hook. I don’t know if you experienced it much or if you’ve any advice that might help. Cheers

Yeah I’ve heard a few people say similar mate. I’ve had it happen a couple of times but not enough that it annoys me. I find just stopped the lure just before it hits the water helps to straighten it all out.

Tbh fish get caught from all over. Best thing to do is keep mobile and keep moving. No need to fish the same area for more than 30-40mins if you’ve had no bites.
