They have taken out the old Bailey Bridge and are putting in a “proper” road bridge for access to the new flats. Thats why the entire area was fenced off. The weed cutter was down there last week hence why it wasn’t as weedy as it usually is. Good video as ever mate 😊

Great video as per usual Charlie. I grew up fishing all of these stretches and have had some unbelievable sessions over the years, especially for the perch. I bumped into you a few times as a kid and I'm glad to see you're still fishing in town. I've since moved across the country but I doubt it'll be too long before I go back to revisit my old haunts! Top water just doesn't work for me on the Thames. Not sure why, just never get any hits from perch.

Could be down to your technique, but could just be unlucky. Have you had any luck elsewhere? I got my grounding in topwater fishing in Saltwater fishing for Bass. If you have access to it I highly recommend trying it, hone your skills doing it in salt and then transfer it to freshwater. 🤙🏻🎣

@@TheIllustratedAngler not sure. The Thames is quite deep in areas around near me. Could be technique I jsut dont seem to see many fish hitting stuff on the top anyways. What lures are you using mate?

Try first light and pick the shallower areas👍

Was toxic Algae I think mate..was advised from people on Facebook not to fish or swim in that stretch

Ah right. Remember they had a blue green algae bloom there last year. Could be similar I guess.
