the only thing that I hate about the BMX iX1 is that BMW chose not to sell it in the US. :( I have the xDrive28i X1 which is 100% gasoline(no hybrid). While I do love it, I secretly hope that is a full EV iX1. Is that wrong? :)

Yeah iX1 is full electric, stick with the car you have as it’s already won by not being electric 💯

@@barrettsreviews well.... I was visiting Europe last year and drove the iX1 for about a week. I honestly felt that it was better than my gasoline-only X1 xDrive28i M Sport. Then again, it's not like I have a choice, since BMW refuses to sell the full electric iX1 in the US. 😄

Is this just the case with the SQ5 from this era, because I been considering a standard Q5 petrol from this era. They are still quite pricey though, thinking maybe they are just ticking time bombs and might be better overall to get just something newer on finance

Owned a white one from new for 14 years. Great drivers' car that can be chucked around the roads safely giving you loads of fun. And the signature 5 pot turbo burble makes it sound like a much bigger engine. Kept it completely stock though it did have a decal on the rear door under the RS badge, which was already on it from new but the sales guy said nobody knew who had put it on. It eventually started suffering from typical old Ford problems of wheel arches and rear door rust. But wasn't helped by me living in west of Scotland and partially also in north west England for a few years, the latter where I must have added about 30k extra miles on the car than it would otherwise have had, due to regular M6/M74 220 mile drives in sometimes horrific rain. Exhaust back box also rusted and needed a repair but soon was needing full replacement, and underside of car was starting to rust. I did attend to the wheel arch and rear door rust when it first appeared but the body shop said it was actually worse than it looked on the surface. But with that being more of a patch up repair the rot was back after about 3 years. Bad timing as due to a 12 month period of uncertainly in my work status I couldn't risk paying for a more high end repair or full restoration. By the time my job situation was settled again I then got the body work assessed and was quoted eye watering figures for a high end restoration involving replacing the 4 quarter side panels, rear door, and full respray to match the paint. So got a quote for a more mid-range repair which would have fabricated and welded new wheel arches to the panels, and not a full body respray. It was still a lot and I decided I didn't want to do a half measures job on it so finally it was time to sell and pass on such a project to someone else. Hopefully someone who wants to bring it back to its best does end up owning it even if it takes a few owners to find that person, as the engine and chassis were completely solid and it drove fantastic.

Great review Kev, a nice birthday present 🎁 for you! This filter is the one to get for looks and performance although a bit on the pricey side imo, fits extremely well like all their development intakes. To note I used to drive a 335d from 2017, and was a very big fan of the car, so of course I will be biased towards a 3 series. I have test driven the new 3 series and it was a 320i that I was given so I feel as if I can speak on a few point you have made. I now drive a 5 series touring if that is at all relevant...? Some very questionable takes with a lot of what you have said about the vehicle. This review came across as if you WANTED to hate the car. Firstly I see you are comparing the suspension of a small saloon to a Range Rover discovery which is like comparing power between a Ferrari and a Fiat. It is pointless, and the Cars have very different purposes. The car also had run flats on it which is absolutely going to reduce the ride quality that you have complained about. You mentioned the car should have "Pops and Bangs" with it being an "M Sport". This shows that you may not be entirely aware that M Sport is the TRIM, not the performance of the vehicle. Seeing as it is BMW's bottom of the line, smallest and most economical petrol engine (in the 3 series) to expect high performance and noises is quite the delusion. People who are buying a 320i or 320d are not doing it for a fast, life-changing driving experience. If you are to review an M340i, M340d or M3 then it is absolutely important to talk about the noises and power. Small note, you seemed quite upset at the engine turning off with "Start-Stop", 99% of cars manufactured in the last 8 years or so have this feature, and it can be turned off very easily. The manual shifters are easily kept on by shifting gears correctly or "aggressively". If you just cruise for 5 seconds or so in a gear that makes no sense it will go back to drive as to not waste fuel. The camera for parking turns off once you have driven away.... once you are no longer parking? Weird thing for you to mention as it turned off after you pulled away. At the end you talk about the gear changing being bad? The ZF 8 speed transmission is used in so many vehicles, Aston Martins, Fords, Alfa Romeos, Toyotas... Range Rovers? They are very good transmissions and its a weird thing to comment on, especially when the coveted discovery of yours uses essentially the same one... Also having seen your review on the iX1 I can see that you have issues with the air curtains on the front of the vehicle which allows air to pass through reducing drag which makes the vehicle more efficient. That is the point in the "Random Gaps" I do agree with some of the things you have said with the interior, IE climate being within the infotainment is alway a negative to me, but to complain about the build quality whilst mashing your hands into stuff felt a bit OTT in my opinion, but I do think the new 3 series has seen a clear reduction in build quality on the interior. I mean after seeing some of your content, you are someone that thinks new Range Rovers are extremely reliable so it does say a lot. Lastly to add, as someone who is around 6ft 2" I have never had the issues of smashing my head on the way in, although with a lot of what you have said, that would explain a lot ;)

Very honest review I just purchased a Tiger 1050 recently, fully agree feels top heavy moving the bike around the garage, but once under away that top heavy feel melts away. As for the gear box yes it can feel clunky, the remedy for this is only use the clutch to get it into first and second, on the up shift for third to sixth it's no clutch at all, just unload the engine and click it up just like a quick shifter and it is as smooth as butter. Going down the gears the clutch comes into play again. I adore this bike, I'm getting on in years and I didn't want to kid myself I needed a Adventure bike like e.g. GS etc who can afford the hefty price tag anyway I'm not going off road, although I have ridden it on plenty of dirt tracks in my local area as long as you moderate your speed it's fine. I just want a bike that could eat up the Ks on the highway and when it came to the twists have a bit of bit of fun. That basically sums up this bike, it's a lot of fun and that triple motor sounds glorious, it has plenty of torque you can leave it in sixth and punt it around, it doesn't have stupid amounts of HP to wear you out like a lot of modern motorcycles . Highly recommend it to anyone who wants a bike that can put a smile on you face. P.S. would not recommend this bike for commuting, it's great for highway and back road sports adventure riding.
