EVV was created by the government because it thinks poor people, especially poor black and brown women, are not to be trusted. They worry about this because they know they are not paying fair wages to begin with. As far as I am concerned it’s just another example of petty paternalistic government control.

Can you explain how to buy a home care agency in states with licensure requirements such as New York ? How does the buyer go around obtaining or getting the license transferred?

This is going to be a struggle for providers that work with people that don't have Wi-fi or a LAN cable, some areas don't even have good signal and have lag/disconnection issues and hopefully the servers don't crash the first day of using the app; I understand the precautions and making sure everything is in order but just seems a bit much to go into details on a daily basis, hopefully there is more information provided for people that speak english and non-english speaking.

Where I am, home care work is paid at $4/hr over minimum for our state. Massachusetts pays $15 an hour minimum. I am making 19 per hour... Wherever you are, if you are not making at least $2 or more per hour more than minimum, you need a different job.

How can I start my own business without a building? How would I get paid and how would my aides get paid? How much would I get paid? How would I get the paper work my new hires need to do? How do I make sure my Aides get paid what I want them too? I want to just have interested people call me and meet up with them at different locations. Can I do that? How do I find clients?
@ankota73932 жыл бұрын
Hi Karen, these are all great questions. The reality is that there are no guarantees. To start the business you would need to be able to pay for startup costs and have enough money to cover at least a few weeks of payroll expenses. If you want to learn visit www.ankota.com/starting-a-home-care-agency-the-ultimate-guide and sign up for the home care launch kit.

What do you think should be charged in New Jersey?
@ankota73933 жыл бұрын
Hi Nicky - This is always a tricky question and depends on your market. But as a general guideline, you should look at what is being paid for caregivers (wages, travel, etc.) and that should be 55% of your total revenue. If you haven't worked with Steve's team, consider one of their bootcamps or check out their website at homecaremaketing.net

What if the the CDS employer doesn't speak English and doesn't know how to use a computer? How is this group of people handled in this new "EVV" system? In other words how can they approve visits?
@ankota73933 жыл бұрын
Hi Ali - Usually only the caregiver needs to do the EVV entries. There are two choices here: 1) finding an EVV app in the needed language, or 2) training the caregiver on the app in English (it should be very easy).

What a terrible thing to do to people going through a pandemic. You just love making peoples' lives difficult. Also, what happened to privacy being sacred. those devices track your location, like seriously!!!!
@ankota73933 жыл бұрын
Hi Ali - Home Care has been very positive during the pandemic. Most care recipients only have one caregiver and for this reason they are socially isolated. I think your concern is about the caregiver privacy because they have to clock in and out but this is a government requirement to prevent fraud, and it's only in effect when they are arriving and departing from work.
@bacelona20113 жыл бұрын
@@ankota7393 Are they really expecting those who receive home care which are mostly old and/or disabled, some of them are dying to receive EVV training which is filled with jargon and technicalities and have them teach all that to their employees/caregivers?

Wasted funds. Places family members in danger rushing to phones to time in and out. This should only be used if a person is actually just arriving or leaving a patient. 31 plus yrs as a care provider here.
@ankota73933 жыл бұрын
Hi Suzy - Thank you for being a caregiver for so long. I'm sure that you and 99% of caregivers are very trustworthy and would never cheat on your timesheets, but EVV has become the law due to the 1%. We've tried to make the process very easy. With the mobile app it takes only a few seconds to clock in. The clock out takes a bit longer because the caregiver confirms their tasks and in some cases signatures are required. So... we're trying to do what you've suggested (only use it if the person is just arriving or leaving). Thanks again for being a caregiver! We truly embrace caregivers as heroes!
