Be safe everyone. Remember, make like the insurance companies, a lake, with ice or without is not considered a suitable surface for driving on.

Did yall bleed the fish? Cuzz I find you don’t have to wash your fish as much when you bleed once you know it’s a keeper. And it’s less suffocating for the fish ya know

Good old Lake Ontario. Land of the Kings! So the north shore of Lake Ontario would be the south coast of the lake and the north coast would be the south shore or is it vice versa?

Yikes, some sketchy ice for sure, surprising with the cold.

Thanks for the update Kevin. It's always tough to judge the ice when watching ice reports but you keep it real and realistic. I respect that. Tight lines Thanks for looking out for us average fisherman looking for a good day out on the ice !!!

That is unfortunate. We have 16 to 20 inches hard black on Nip. Amazing the difference 200 km makes. Also we were never got any lake effect snow and just 10 days ago still didn't have snow on the ice - helped a lot. Some snow now but we got a rock solid base before that happened.

Thanks for the update Kevin! We went to a small back lake we thought would have 6+ on it and were shocked when the spud bar went through on a couple hits. 2" inches of crap ice and it was all under snow. We ended up going to Cook's where there was 6" of black but the fishing sucked. Still managed to salvage a day.

Run elliot in open water but love my frostbite rods in winter. Royal flush & smokeshow are my first to grab rods, they have great customer service compared to others in the industry also.
