im not sure about the other renditions of the characters, however in The Dark Knight he is most certainly not queer coded, he has a message and view he wants to proof, ''their morals, their codes, its a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of trouble, I'll show you when the ships are down these civilized people will eat each other. And in the film it establishes that The Joker can't understand the fact that this ''Batman'' truly is inccoruptable. Which is why he wants to do this song and dance forever, his way of thinking will be proven right at some point all he has to do is break the Bat. Not to kill him mind you, Not sure how people view this version of the character as queer at all, its basic movie logic and once you retrace these steps from a non queer view it becomes all to clear that this rendition is not queer at all.

Yeah the Joker has always been obsessed about Batman to the point of some kind of attraction and love towards him while Batman's most popular iterations only sees the Joker the same way he sees other criminals(people who need to be punished for their crimes and recieve help so they can stop being criminals, Batman's most famous depiction is that of a humanitarian with a no-kill rule that criminals like the Joker tries to make him break). I have a bit of a hatred towards misinterpretations of characters and their words when everything hints that the opposite is true but I try to not insult the people who interpreted it that way(though I do sometimes make fun of the misinterpretations but not in a way that insults the people who made them, I am willing to listen to arguments in case I got something wrong but I prefer if there is strong evidence backing it up), I don't think we need every character to represent us or someone else especially if they are established characters(it depends on the context, traits and what the character is defined as so there some room for some established characters to change but other established characters like the Joker are pretty much already established as/hinted towards feeling attracted to people of the same gender, Harley also already had something going on with Ivy in her first appearance in the animated series) but I think representation is good to have especially if it's done well and doesn't try to erase anything or repaint something(unless there's a good reason like any type of sexuality being painted as a mental illness in the past instead of what it actually is). I'm fine with jokes about Batman and the Joker's relationship if it's not taken seriously(with the exception of well the iterations where Batman does feel attracted romantically or sexually to the Joker since we do have the Telltale version and the Thomas wayne version which work because the story doesn't take away who batman or Thomas Wayne are but I think a relationship with the Joker still doesn't work for Bruce because of what type of criminal Joker is).

Ganondorf(also known by his nickname Ganon) in the Zelda series from what I've seen is often misinterpreted because people see him as boring(just because he is the type of big bad pure evil villain who conquers, uses dark magic and tries to rule the world, I find this strange since these villains can be very entertaining to watch, Darth Sidious is one of my favorites) or can't find him relatable or unable to see Ganondorf's ugly heart as they only look at his appearance(which people also often get wrong for some reason when they make fanart because Ganondorf's body, eyebrows and face look way different from how grumpy, evil, imposing and muscular they look in the games and people don't see that Ganondorf and Twinrova look different compared to the other Gerudo), they fail to understand the fundamental purpose and inspiration for his character as a whole and they choose to attach things to the character (that aren't there or implied and are usually very far fetched) that go against the character's core identity. Ganondorf only cares about himself, his two mothers, the demon tribe, and violent power obssessed psychopaths like him which are the only people with traits he can relate to but he doesn't want to share the same position of power with someone else and he desires to be the mightiest being of them all. He likes getting into battle situations where he is forced to use his full power. He is motivated by a bottomless hunger for power that he will use for himself and to create a demonic distorted world of constant war where the weak and cowardly are crushed a, the concepts of peace and harmony are removed and the strong rule and thrive. He is a pure embodiment of pure evil, greed, delusion, arrogance, chaos, hate and grudge which is why he holds the title of maō(demon king) in every game and takes the demonic beastial form that resembles a boar which in A link to the past is established to be a reflection of his heart/soul/character and ego. He is not a victim of a greater evil, only a successor of an old evil whose power he has surpassed, he is a manifestation and a successor of this ancient evil and even if he was a victim he wouldn't suddenly turn good if he broke a connection to this evil because Ganondorf only has traits that make him a pure evil villain. He sees a marriage between two people of different races as a sign of weakness. He is often misinterpreted as having cared about his people because of his wind speech in The wind waker when that clearly isn't the case or implied as he never talks about them in the original text and in all languages he talks about himself and show selfishness, ego, narcissism, powerhunger and never talks about a desire to help the Gerudo while in Ocarina of time he brainwashed the Gerudo and damaged their reputation, Nabooru chose to stand against him because he wasn't a noble thief at all(he stole from women and children and killed people) but she got brainwashed into becoming his second-in-command, his about the winds of Hyrule is unreliable because he crushed any prosperity Hyrule had and he only supposes that he coveted the winds because of jealousy, covet is a strong word. Ganondorf doesn't represent the positive side of power but other characters do, Ganondorf only represents the negative side of power, he believes he is unstoppable with power so he can't rule over power, only be ruled by power. The Gerudo aren't oppressed by the Hyruleans or forced to live in the desert and they are fine with living there despite the harsh climate, in their latest iterations they are described as a noble people who stand strong, proud and beautiful in the desert, in Four swords adventures they shun and disown Ganondorf when he breaks their laws so he can go on a selfish journey for greater power, in A link to the past Ganondorf murders his own followers and in other games he does the same thing to his servants or leaves them to rot/be killed, in Ocarina of time and Tears of the kingdom Ganondorf attacks the people the Gerudo need to reproduce because Gerudo males are extremely rare as only a single one is born once a century. In The wind waker Ganondorf is not seeking redemption, he seeks retribution against a world that has forgotten the past and moved on, he himself is stuck in the past and wants to revive it because it had something he liked(violence, giant landmass to conquer or him as the ruler of the world). He is an irredeemable monster with no sympathetic, noble or tragic backstory, only some sympathetic human traits and some redeemable qualities however when they are seen they are usually tied to his egotistical, narcissistic and hypocritical nature(in other words it's his own fault that he lost what he selfishly wanted). He is completely obsessed and attached to power and his own self proclaimed greatness and his delusion and ego is so powerful that he can't see reality for what it really is, only what he wants it to be. Ganondorf manifests his desires, beliefs and feelings through his demonic magic, demonic magic is fueled by negative feelings, beliefs and desires compared to sacred magic. Ganondorf’s interests outside of conquest, causing suffering and creating dark worlds still revolve around his power obssession. In Four swords adventures Ganondorf immediately took the trident of the king of darkness because he read the inscription on it's stone tablet and learned that he could use it to become the new king of darkness and have fun with it's destructive power and use it to get all the power he wants and cover the world in darkness. In Cadence of Hyrule he appears as a child but still shows a power obssession, a huge ego, pride and arrogance. I really wish people could just accept Ganondorf for who he is instead of replacing him with someone who shares the same name but has traits that would make him more of a different character and not Ganondorf(Ganondorf’s whole character is also about him being incredibly stubborn, self centered and too obsessed to stop, he is stuck in his ways and refuses to listen to others, he can't be reasoned with and should he make a deal with a good character it is expected that he won't honor his end of the bargain and will deceive and betray them)which I find very lazy because there is no established rule that every Gerudo male is an iteration of Ganondorf and Ganondorf doesn't have a seperate good personality, he's just supposed to be the big bad and the main villain of the series and an evil jerk whose love is only shown to be towards himself, the two witches and the evil things he embodies. He is part of a self inflicted cycle of suffering that every other demon villain in the series are also a part of, as a demon king he is eternally attached to the cycle of suffering and an obstacle for other people's enlightenment. The main problem with Ganondorf in the Zelda stories is that he often takes a backseat in the stories and doesn't get involved in many scenes and sometimes doesn't have much of an impact in the story like not achieving many victories that reminds the player that he is a menacing and threatening villain to be feared but that doesn't make his character and villainy worse. People's obssession with changing or replacing Ganondorf ignores other Zelda villains and the main themes of the series. Ganondorf is ruled by power instead of ruling over it and that makes him ignorant to the point that exposes a weak spot that his enemies can exploit to defeat him, he is incapable of changing because his obssessions are too strong, the only time he seemingly gave up was in The wind waker because he knew he lost his last chance to conquer all of creation and twist the world to the distorted demon wromd he wants it to be and he was very tired but in his final moments he felt no remorse or regret, only bitterness and anger. He stopped lying to himself and smiled during his last battle and during his final words, showing who he truly is and not the lie he had created about himself. There is a parallel world counterpart of Ganondorf in ALBW who is also power obsessed and related to demonic magic and a desire to create demon worlds but this character has a different name and he is a lot more feminine, he is obssessed with beauty but sees true beauty only in demonic power and demon worlds, after the game's first act he fuses with the resurrected Ganondorf and they become one being . In my personal opinion regarding Ganondorf's sexuality I see him as asexual because he doesn't seem to care or be interested at all about anything related to sex or love and he is a psychopath who enjoys causing suffering, I think his greed, power obssession and ego would make him avoid having children or just not care about having children because a Gerudo dynasty loses power immediately when the next male is born a century after the previous male unless the laws that make the males kings has been removed. However I think there can be exceptions like something related to a contingency plan in case he is killed and sealed because if a demon is sealed they can recieve help from people outside the seal in order to break it and if they are killed there can always be people who can use a demonic ritual to bring back the demon's soul and grant it a proper vessel to inhabit in order to revive.

Great video, but the ONE thing I’d argue against is Greed from FMA being included as a queer-coded villain. I’m not saying that he isn’t, but, I think we need to also consider the cultural context. Male Japanese anime and video game characters tend to be much more androgynous and what westerners may consider traditionally “gay” regardless of if they’re a hero or villain. I mean, just look at Link from Legend of Zelda. He looks very effeminate and even acts very effeminate several times thought the franchise, but has always been a character intended to be seen as a good person. Queer coding certainly does exist within Japanese media, but it’s a bit different than it is in western culture because male androgyny is seen as more acceptable. Even Edward Elric, the main character of FMA, has androgynous features and long hair. Features that american men would usually get shamed for having. Using Greed as an example of queer coding isn’t bad. I just think there’s more context to be explores when it comes to queer-coded animated characters from Japan.

People getting offended over fans thinking the Joker is gay gives off the same exact vibes as people getting offended over fans thinking Velma from Scooby Doo is gay. The signs were there from the beginning and if you didn’t catch on to it then that’s on you lmao. There is nothing “woke” about making the obvious canon.

Hey. Christian here. This was so helpful for me. I struggle with my sexuality a lot and I believe in the God of the bible. But the abuse and hatred towards the lgbt i identify very much with as you have discussed it. I love God, but I see the way that people have mistreated me and have constantly hurt me over things i couldn't control. One of the topics you talked about was queer rage. I find that valid. And that it helps me realize i dont need to care about what others say about me or try and force me to do. People because theyre "normal" have made me nothing. And yes I love the Lord, and I see myself as a man. I would love to have a wife and kids. But thank you for being gracious in this. I love Jesus, but as defined by others and this video, I am very likely queer. And queer people very much need the grace and love of God. He's the only Person that makes my life worth it. So thank you. I have had a very hard day. and you are a blessing. God bless you.

This bubble so many of you are in, is not based in real life. So much fixation on sexuality, must be nice to not have to worry or be concerned about actual problems the majority are going through. This represents the delusion that so many of you are living in a fantasy world where EVERYONE gives a shit about gender and sexuality when the reality is it is not important in the slightest. Instead of focusing on and protecting real life, feel free to continue being the outcasts that everyone will ignore.

Sexuality is a lense to analyze the world around us and how it is stigmatized. Sexuality is inherent to our society and to the dynamics we form between each other. Yes it is important to realize that most things are targeted to straight men, it allows us to consider the little things, down to how a vehicule security is optimized using a male body, or that most pills in pharmaceutical are conceived mostly taking for reference white males' hormones/genome. Most blockbusters target straight men, as most advertisement To be blinded to these disparities is to be ignorant. To let yourself get manipulated by what is commonly pushed by companies. To notice how yes most villains are queer coted is to have more tools to navigate the world around you, and to protect yourself
