Is this the documentary that Her Majesty never wanted anyone to see again?
@SalyLuz-hc6he9 сағат бұрын
Yes it is! I believe at that time there were quite a lot of complaints, some people say it was pressure from the media and other say it was pressure from Philip. At least we can see here that they are humans, and especially for the Queen, her whole life was about Service.

1:06:43 Charles and Anne were definitely such good big siblings to Andrew and Edward. Edward was always such a sweet boy❤.Andrew not so much😂
@lapislazuli787622 сағат бұрын
Well… they were “good siblings” when the cameras were rolling. I’m sure if you ask them these days, in 2024, they may tell you another story. The current Duke of Edinburgh has been sidelined a few times by his big brother for all sorts of jobs, and Andy I’m sure would not be so kind regarding his brother wanting him to quit royal lodge. Be careful what you believe when it comes to royalty. It’s all a huge theatrical performance that is designed to keep the peasants working (and dying) for them. It’s an ugly business.

I really like the video, I don’t understand why the Queen banned it. It’s great to see behind the scenes and see that they do regular stuff too. Princess Anne is so pretty and the Queen and Prince Philip have great senses of humor. It’s great to see the boys enjoying the days and relaxing. Charles and Anne taking care of the younger brothers was very sweet.

It was considered more than a bit "tone-deaf" for 1969 - a very fraught time of social revolution. Seeing Nobility dining off of gold plate in palaces and yachts was hardly likely to appeal to a great many in 1969.

Completely disagree, they met people from all around the world. Princess Anne a gold medalist. Prince Charles a wonderful artist, polo player, a pilot. Edward was a theatre director. Prince Andrew was a pilot in the Fauklands war.. The 'Duke of Edinburgh created The Duke of Edinburgh Award for underprivileged teens a brilliant scheme that has helped thousands around the world. They do so much for charity. Queen Elizabeth drove tanks during the war. They are brilliant.

Isn’t this the documentary where the Queen shares a joke with Charles and Philip that a gorilla came to the door? Not a gorilla of course but an ambassador from an African country. Not a surprise Harry and Meghan left given the abuse and jealousy. A shame though, as Harry cares about Commonwealth countries whereas William only really likes England.
@gillianbrown85022 күн бұрын
Yes. The Royal Family blundered terribly in their treatment of Meghan and Harry. Their one chance to be relevant and keep ties with commonwealth countries, but alas they blew it. It seems Harry and Meghan are doing fine whereas the Windsors are in steep decline since the Queen died.
@lapislazuli787623 сағат бұрын
Yeah I think Harry made a very big mistake. He regrets it now but like his great uncle Edward VIII it was too late. Megan was unsuitable as a royal bride and William, Charles, Anne, his grandfather and all his friends tried to tell him. But he got angry and wouldn’t listen. Much like his mother. Now it’s all too late and he is stuck as a Prince in exile in a foreign land, far, far away. It’s a tale as old as time itself.
