Very valid points! (From a Maltese person 😆). I would add another two: 1. Do NOT point out the problems of the country to a Maltese person. Trust me, many of us are tired of certain issues and are angry at the authorities. However, we do not want to hear it from a visitor. And if you happen to do this with someone who loves the government... well, good luck to you 😄. 2. Do NOT be rude to a Maltese person. We're not very tolerant of rude behavior nor are we patient. If you wind up a Maltese person, you will be in trouble. Maltese people are a bit like cute little dogs; they may appear friendly, harmless, and bubbly, but if you try to touch them, they will bark and bite you like a crazy dog. Even I, as a Maltese person, sometimes hold myself back in order to avoid confrontation. Don't worry about it, if you're nice, you will be loved.

Just visiting Malta right now...very short...too short visit after 30 years. Malta has changed sooo much. We were talking to an uber driver and he confirmed what you were saying. He was working in sales...something....and when the company changed his manager they told him they didn't need him. Now he is working extra-extra hours to make his living....he asked about uk...everywhere you go without money is difficult. Nowhere money grows on trees.😢

Very good to also look about the hardships/difficulties. Each country has its own difficulties and before you choose which country to move to you need to know this.

Hello Alex, I hope you are doing well, let me give you my story about my stay in Malta, I arrived to Rocky Island 4 years ago, and everything was perfect, great landlord, great friends, and good job (By the way I am professional in IT from Mexico), since I speak perfect English and Italian, I never had any communication problems, I was hired while I lived abroad in the USA, I was promised several things like the majority of foreigners that I were hired abroad and convinced to come to Malta, in my case, this company found me on LinkedIn, I came with my 19-year-old son at that time, it was not until I started to find that some Maltese workers starter to be jo jealous and criticize me for everything I did, as it was expected, my accent was American since I lived most of my life in the USA, so they started to criticize me as a Mexican living in USA or even calling me some different pejorative names etc, as per note, my Father is Puerto Rican, so he is American citizen and for that reason, me and my siblings were entitle to live there too, second thing that also happened is that they started to criticize my work, most of the time were rejecting everything I did, because I was using the American style, instead of the European, after 9 months I have decided to move to another company which I loved and I stayed there for another 2 years, this company was a bit more international, different leadership, but eventually jealousy and envy started to appear, so one more time I had to move to another job (iGaming company) this time was perfect, but then laws changed in Malta, new Immigration system started and Identity Malta became Identita, etc, I was about to renew my ID Card by the way I was on a program called Blue Card which is basically a Special skilled worker, that would allowed me to obtain permanent residency in 5 years and possible citizenship in 7, so when I had my appointment on Identita, they told me they could not keep me as a BlueCard Holder and they offered me another program, which automatically will take me out the list of permanent residency, and ofc lose my years of seniority on the island, I have asked them for the reason, and they just gave me explanations that have not even made sense, so I decided not to renew it and move out the Island, and son and I investigated other options still in Europe where we are now living, I have re-applied on the program and all seems to be moving forward, plus they have accepted the time that I had living in Malta, I have feelings about Malta, I made some great friends, 3 Open minded Maltese and mostly foreigners like me, I had good and bad feelings, I found a lot of corruption, envy, enemies etc, but at the same time, I found a beautiful place, great friends and so many good experiences, have a great day Alex!!

Malta is a good place to grow if you have come with nothing, it is better than most countries in Europe, there is racism but they allow you work and earn money even if it is small

I apologise on behalf of my fellow Maltese for the obnoxious behaviour of some local and maybe not-so-local 'animals', with all due respect to animals. We are not all the sort of uncivilised herd such as the one in the video. Pity that we all get grouped together just for being Maltese by affected expats though I can't say I completely blame them for doing so. In any case, most of us are not this sort of inhuman being.
