Hi Alex. For me Qawra - Buggiba - Saint Paul’s Bay it’s like one place . I have seen a lot of improvement in the past two years. A lot of new hotels, lidos , bars and restaurants. The promenade is nice .. I enjoy going for a walk … there is a nice sunset especially from Cafe Del Mar area and the aquarium… you are right that some back streets might not be so nice .. but yes you can find this everywhere… not only in Bugibba.

We stayed there for a week in 2006, when buses finished at 6, so you had to spend the evening there 😥 We ate every night in different restaurants, asking for local food and drink, we were asked "why would you want that?", have a Guinness and fish and chips 😭 Now we live in Malta we avoid most tourist areas - Buggiba, St Paul's, Qawra, St Julian's, Paceville, Sliema. Prefer a local town with local shops and bars, not "little England"! Thanks for your videos ❤️🇲🇹

Good video as always! Used to live exactly where you started the video. I moved to Swieqi because Buggiba is deteriorating fast, sadly enough. Although I still miss the walks on the promenade (especialy on summer nights) and easy acces to take a quick swim.

St. Paul, with the districts of Buggiba and Qawra, is a tourist ghetto without the typical Maltese flair. Only hotels, restaurants and bars in modern buildings If you want to experience the real Malta with the typical houses with wooden balconies, small pubs and shops, you should book a hotel in Valletta, Sliema, Mellieha or San Gilian.

Good Morning from California Alex and Chris :). Quick question Alex what about Bugibba do you not like, is it a lot of tourists and traffic? The People? Crime? From the video it actually looks really nice, lots of new buildings, looks clean, but I must admit looks more modern then the Malta I know and lots of traffic all around, maybe because of all the tourists as it seems I saw more outsiders then I did native Maltese. Thanks again for the video I'll have to explore Bugibba when I am there next it still looks interesting. I'm like Chris it looks more interesting than St. Pauls Bay. Have a great evening looking forward to watching tomorrow :)

Bugibba is a neighborhood in St Paul’s Bay. It is part of St. Paul’s Bay. Same with Qawra. I live there. But I prefer Mosta because it has the largest shopping mall and lots of things I prefer are within Mosta.

Overall, I like the St. Paul's Bay area. We took a walk from San Pawl il-Baħar to Qawra mid-August. It was so hot that all water what we consumed came right out as sweat. Malta is still so pleasantly warm in October. I agree with your friend that Nine Lives is a good vibe place to spend a night out (if you're lucky with a DJ who's playing). I saw that a new beach club, Sabi BC, is being built between NL and Cafe Del Mar. Hopefully it will be a good place to visit next time.

The advantage of living in this part of the island is that everything is walkable. Supermarkets (well okay just one lage(ish) one), shops, services, bars, restaurants, entertainment, the sea etc. Of course Sliema and St Julians are no different, as as parts of Mosta and Birkirkara as well, but we're less of a urban sprawl than those locations. I can park the car and not need to move it for two or three days at a time (luckily I work form home). Some parts of the place are very ugly, but there are few places that aren't in Malta.

Bugibba is becoming very upgraded over the last 5-6 yrs and can be a little ugly in areas off architecture, although the coastline and views over st pawls bay and multiple bars and entertainment on tourist street and great restaurants outweigh the architecture.. although looks deeper for hidden gems..the aquarium at qawra point and the ease of walking between all.. the views around towards tas Salina and the bird park.. walk from the aquarium towards bubba at sunset 😉 great family friendly area. Quite a few Xpats live in the area also. 🇲🇹🇬🇧🥰

Hi Alex. I have watched your videos for years and never commented! I am an English man that moved to Malta and lived there for 6 years, but then moved back to England 9 months ago. OK, so I initially lived in Bugibba (5/10), then Qawra (8/10), then Marsascala (4/10), then Qala on Gozo (10/10), then St Pauls Bay (7/10). I worked in IT/I-gaming so for work I was happy and it was great to live/work alongside many different nationalities. What I will say is that for me Malta is way too over populated and it became much more expensive after Covid. I found it dirty, noisey, lots of construction, traffic problems, disrespectful neighbours, way too many drugs and saw crime increase alot. Gozo was the complete opposite for me and was one of the best places I ever lived. The only downside was that I felt limited due to the size of the island when considering living there long term. I am back in England living again in the amazing rural countryside, but I have very fond memories of living where you are. We are all different and so all desire different things. That said, Malta/Gozo does have something for everyone. Keep up your great videos - mela!

Hello Alex You have obviously been spoilt in St Julian's & Sliema, but not everybody can afford to dine & drink cocktails in these places so stop acting like a snob & try to put yourself in other people's shoes. Bugibba does have its faults & if you go to any back street of anywhere in any country they are just the same. By the way St Paul's bay & Bugibba are not "cities" they are "villages" or "places". Thankyou & all the best.

I didn't like your review of Bugibba. If you are visiting different villages/places you should be impartial until the end... then only give your opinion. You complained of smells, but you didn't elucidate on what the smell was? Bugibba is very popular all year round, so it is a working tourist area... granted not liked by everyone. You veered off course also, there was no need for that... in fact you probably went into Qawra at some point. You should have gone down Tourist Street, there was more to see than a stroll down the seafront. Your filming was poor, you just either pointed the camera forward, or on yourself... there are things going on all around you, but you appeared to be not really bothered about that. Sorry Alex, I'd give you 3/10 on your content, recording and commentary on this video 😔

@@judybus1 No Judybus1, but if Alex is going to do an impartial view of a place I think he should show a place from all angles. I know he can do better than this, I've watched him for a while now and I was disappointed. Maybe it was because he was with a friend? People can stop watching if they don't like the content... and that would be a shame.
