Have you watched anyone operate a surface grinder? It looks like you're re-inventing grinding without any outside knowledge. Can you even grind 2 surfaces parallel? Do you have a surface plate or the 15-$ indicator required to measure parallel? It's not a surface grinder unless you can grind 2 surfaces parallel within a 1/10th over 2 inches (0.004 mm in 50 mm).
@neffk7 күн бұрын
The cantilever of the the motor is a death sentence for this design. Nothing wrong with making things small but you haven't considered the most important points about a surface grinder. The column must be sturdy and capable of moving (z direction) in 0.0001 inch increments. Your motor should not slow down under load. If it does, use a narrow wheel or dress it so only the edge cuts. You've got to grind 5 blocks to have any confidence in a surface grinder, one at each extent of the table and another in the center. They've got to come out the same thickness. Besides the obvious bad design, you've now joined the club of KZbin builders who make something and don't use it because it's just "content", not a usable machine.

A very good rebuild and modification of the warped table. A sugesstion, or two, if you please! I use several small mills and lathes, Perhaps you may be using too much grease, much less will be cleaner! When I assembled my lathe, from a kit, The instructions for the gibs, was to "lap" them in, to obtain more metal to metal contact, and doing that, less play in the movement! To lap the brass, use a light oil, in America we have 3 in 1 oil, but any oil used on Sewing Machines would be good. Then, with oiled metal, a VERY small amount of "Ajax Cleaning powder" is dusted on the oil, then tigthen the 3 screws, until there is a light FRICTION. Go back and forth, Disassemble, CLEAN metal and see what the oil and powder removed! It will not be much, so REPEAT the oil and powder, assemble it, tighten the screws and the friction, as you slide left to right, right to left, DO that 5 to 10 strokes, left, right is 1, left right again is 2, OK? Take it apart, clean. SEE more metal is gone ! The BRASS METAL, should wear "IN" the pattern and angle of the body, to be CORRECT. Even Better on larger mill with Cast Iron body! X direction, when processed will be more ACCURATE! Then do the Y axis, same procedure. WHEN you are done just use that LIGHT OIL, the grease is to thick, BUT is keeping the PROPER ALLIGNMENT of Gib to Body from being CORRECT! I hope this translates for you, I could understand your translation into ENGLISH, but some words the "translation software" did not do proper terms! I am, philip, from the Great Pacific NorthWET, Oregon Division, USA

Interesting mod. Did not see this before. What was the reason for it? I have this printer since few weeks and so far with standard set up it printed PLA and some TPU quite fine. I am thinking of doing this mod, too. But my concern when looking at this is that due to smaller radius of the tube there will be more friction to the filament especially for TPU and similar. Do you have clear benefit now after finishing this? A conclusion video would be interesting. Some user commented on his make that v2 version produces squeaking noises on retract. Also I saw your other mods on your Thingiverse profile for this printer. Will come in handy for me, too later on. I'm thinking of adding 3D Touch sensor, too. And also I see you used(d?) another fan duct which cools from both sides. This was my first modification right after buying the (used) printer.

Not sure if I heard correctly but it sounded like you were reading the runout for the chuck on the indicator as 3/1000 mm but that is actually not what the indicator was showing. Each tick on the indicator means 1/100 and not 1/1000 of a mm. Therefore the runout is ten times higher than what I heard you saying (being three thousandths). Maybe that's just because of incorrect translation, but I can't tell. I hope this was helpful.

I had the same printer and I was never satisfied with it. I modified everything. All fans new and more quiet. All bearings from misumi because after some time they were shaky. Then different hotend (e3d V6 clone) because of continuous under extrusion. Then direct extruder because I could. Then BL Touch because buildplate is not flat. Then vanilla marlin firmware because it's adjustable the way I like it. Then mini 12864 display (without touch) because I have more firmware settings that I can adjust than with the touch display. Then tmc2208 stepper drivers because the original are so loud. Then I changed the board to skr because I wanted 32 bit and marlin 2. And then wanted to get rid of that disgusting metal frame and replaced it with a full bear frame and printed all the bear frame parts and bought missing parts to make it almost like a Prusa. Then I replaced the tmc2208 with tmc2209 so I can have sensorless homing. I also exchanged the power adapter and build my own heatbed with 6 mm aluminium and magnetic build plates. The result is a printer that is better then the Prusa mk 3s+ and even has input shaping. I would never buy a anycubic I3 Mega again. I just had problems with it. And in the end I put more money into it than if I had bought a Prusa from the beginning. The anycubic was just a journey and adventure for me to learn about technology of 3d printing. But never a reliable machine until i had completely rebuild it.
