Wow, this was a great tutorial on gain staging. I still wasn't sure of the proper method. I just have a Klanghelm VU meter, which I have set to automatically show up on every track by default. It's set to -18 by default. I was just using the knob on the plugin to make the needle hit 0, and then not worrying about everything I do afterwards. I just assumed I had enough headroom to do my thing. Now I know my method or reducing volume is probably incorrect, because it's keeping the volume coming in the same.

You are covering up the meter on the second plugin - so, the things you are saying are not easy to see. You made some good points about gain staging on both sides of the plugin. But, the proof is hidden behind your avatar.

when I import the beat and when I reduce it to -6 and even nna-12 the vu meter still hits red all the way while the peak meter shows? everything properly, should I bother with it or should I continue mixing?

If you have a song where the key changes, you will need to click the button again to send the new key to all the instances of autotune. It will constantly scan for the key, but it wont update the key of each autotune plugin until you click the button.

The EQ bands can be set to perform dynamically and you can use a sidechain signal to duck the signal to the sidechain input.

4:1 compression is not more severe than 20:1 , took you seriously until you said that

this compressor behaves differently, the threshold changes at different ratios so you actually end up with more compression. It doesn't behave like a typical compressor when it comes to ratio...i could have elbarated and explained it better, but check out the manual for it and see for yourself or test it out if you have the plugin

It can be used in logic, you would just have to automate the same plugin parameters in logic. I don't use logic so I can't show you, but im sure there are plenty of tutorials out there that will show you how to automate plugin paramaters in logic

I think I've watched a dozen vids on finding tempo and setting up the grid. You didn't just say 'do this, and do that' but you explained exactly what the functions were and made it all understandable, instead of just going thru the motions. You deserve way more than this many thumbs up. This was THE BEST I've seen, and the stuff you added about duplicating clips was awesome. Thank you!

Have to use a different plugin to change the pitch, this plugin just corrects pitch to keep you in key with the music.
