I remember seeing this ride. I never actually had the chance to ride it, but love that it was adjacent to Timber Wolf. Too bad this one kept breaking down in its later years and now there's no ride in its place while you can still see the queue line for it. I know it was on the site originally occupied by Omegatron (or Ω-tron for short).

Great old memories. I've gone on the PandAm Airlines, Either Oar, and a few other kiddie ones from when I was little in the 90s. And the Wacky Worm that didn't exist yet since the footage is from two years before the WW opened, I was almost 3 when the Wacky Worm opened. So glad I got to buy a PJ Panda T-shirt during this trip to Worlds of Fun before they would all be sold out, especially people whom were kids in the 80s and 90s. When I was little, we used to go to Worlds of Fun on Father's Day weekend, and then for my birthdays as I grew older.

Excellent ride, but I noticed that 2 out of the 6 arms, 4 "fingers" holding the 8 spinning cars were not turning. So, 8 out of 24 riders didn't get the full thrill that they paid for.

It was quite the roller coaster. And most notably ranked #1 on any list of roller coasters that should have NEVER been removed. I got to ride it at least once back when I was 9 in 1999 around my birthday then just four years before the park decided to axe it. Had they not built that mountain-high Mamba, then they would have kept on investing on the maintenance for this. The best part is how it introduced the kamikaze curve inversion alongside being the second roller coaster to have interlocking loops after the Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

That's pretty cool. So glad you guys are salvaging remnants of past rides from Worlds of Fun. And I see some remnants from the good old Bounce-A-Roos to the far left. I was actually pretty sad to see the Bounce-A-Roos go, especially having long outgrown the kiddie rides while growing up in the 90s; and then when I had my 18th birthday, that's the last time I remember seeing them in the park before the park had to axe them two years later while on their last legs for a nostalgic kiddie ride.

1:51 Manual dispatch. This is what ride operators then had to do before the convenience of computerized technology of holding down the button for about five or so seconds after verifying the station is clear before the trains can go.

Timber Wolf. This one is very iconic, and just roughly 14 months older than me. It's a fun one to ride on. And nice to have some archives on how this roller coaster evolved over the years: shared lapbar restraints with no headrests, and then headrests for the first time in its five-year history, and then changing the classic shared lapbar to individual ratcheting lapbar restraints when the Detonator opened at the time, to lots of cosmetic improvements over time. And then for its 30th year of operation was when they gave it its first major makeover by demolishing the spiraling helix for a 70-degree banked hairpin turn. And now for the first time in its 34-year history, they just re-painted the once-red trains to orange.

Thank you for this because I was just saying to my family that when I went as a kid there were no seatbelts, and they thought I must be remembering incorrectly because it sounded so unsafe. But here it is- shared lap bars, I was right!! I was so young and my legs were so much smaller than my dad’s, whom I shared the bar with- he couldn’t put it down nearly far enough for me. I know rides have airtime on purpose but to this day I swear if I’d let go I’d have been sucked out. It was crazy how far off the seat I was. Thanks for confirming my memory was correct!

This particular roller coaster made history and was rather iconic to the park at the time. It's too bad it needed so much maintenance that they couldn't do anything other than axe it, especially since it was intended to run on three trains with its block-braking system, including on the midway track. This one had a "chicken exit" whose sign was later relocated to the Timber Wolf as the only thing salvaged from this roller coaster, and then they removed the sign from the Timber Wolf when this past roller coaster was put into some exhibition with the front remnants of the roller coaster train and other things salvaged for this park's 50th anniversary. This is like the most talked-about past ride. When Worlds of Fun decided to axe this roller coaster 20 years ago, that's where it caused major backlash and that most of the people were upset with the park's decision to remove it. I actually rode this at least about once when I was 9 in 1999 around my birthday at the time. Only one month later did a mishap occur where riders were stranded for about a couple hours. Thankfully I wasn't one of them when it happened.
@Mina_Fox_90

Now that's some history here. Back when all of Worlds of Fun's roller coasters then were steel until for the 1989 season that they decided to enter the classic/wooden roller coaster market, in which they had to dismantle this one in which the Timber Wolf replaced it; but reusing the existing station house and entrance/exit. This one was also the first roller coaster at Worlds of Fun with inversions, and the world's first stand-up roller coaster, but only for the 1983 season at this park.
