Would having the hose reversed onto the valve cause this problem?

Didn't use my pump for a while the property was sitting vacant. Went to use the pump, and it just hummed. There in a hole in the cover that I was able to check that the motor was free. Gave the power again and tried to help the motor spin, but it was still just a hum. With a primed pump, put a battery-powered drill to give it a little more help. A small puff of oily smoke, and we are back in business. Great video

What if you just put a ball valve on the waste line

I was hoping this would work, but sadly for me, it didn't...New capacitor, but it still hums and doesn't start. Impeller and motor turn by hand, but it doesn't fire up.

What happens if the cold light stays on, but you are trying to have it heat up with no increase in temperature?

My spa is similar but not the same brand. How high should the water level be in that skimmer pocket? I think my hot tub is leaking but I’m wondering if it’s just the guests pushing up the water line when they get in. It’s also winter so maybe it’s evaporation. I fill the water halfway up the skimmer and then a few days later it’s down to about an inch or two above the skimmer. Any advice would be appreciated.

My valve is leaking out of the waste port while on filtration. Fresh install, works on recirculate without leaking.

I have that exact pump and need to change the wet end. It has been leaking through the shaft seal for a while now and it is thoroughly corroded. For the life of me I can't get the impeller to budge. Any advice for removing tenaciously stuck impellers?

Thanks and it reminded me of another question I had. My hot tub is on a cement patio under my deck. It has a slight pitch to it, not huge but slightly so the side with the controls are lower than the back of the spa. Should I try and get it level or not worry about it and if I do try and level it what is the best way to do that? Sorry I promise no more spa question at least not today!

Good video! Can you show us how to drain the ice or cooler feature on that model? Mine seems to hold water almost like the drain in the cooler area is higher than the rest so water does not drain out.

Wow great video! I took my faceplate off and found that there actually was a crack on the inner part of that faceplate but I have no idea how it got there (I have pics) but it is pretty obvious I have been over chlorinating my spa for about a year. All the black plastic inner parts are bleached white. My question is can I send that down a bit and epoxy it to fix the crack? Will the chlorinated water break down the epoxy? I think the stop and start of the crack can be sealed but love to hear your opinion!

Wow , this was the first video that I’ve watched that mentioned the capacitor holding a charge and how to discharge it. Some videos didn’t even mention turning off the power before poking around inside the motor. I’m glad that you’re on the ball.

How often should you replace the shaft seal?

Hi I put on a new key grip on my Haywood filter and when I put it on filter water comes out of the backwash hose too. Did I need to seal it with something and buy that sealing ring too. I didn’t do that. Thanks

Hi there, I have an almost identical-looking balboa system, the element looks exactly the same. The other day we had the electricity go off 3 times in 3 days, turns out an electrical lead laying in water. Now I have discovered that the hot tub heating was going down from 31 to 20 degrees where it has stayed. here in Sweden, it is 3 plus degrees at moment. I have checked all fuses and the main one on the top left. All ok. They should all be on 0 reading. The big fuse was 0,001. When l checked it .I checked the heating element with the multimeter, with electricity on, the reading was 0, not 220-240v. The Pump is running normally by the way. I do not know what has happened but my suspicion is that when the electricity went off 3 times in 3 days, the other day,it has caused something to happen. Why would this cause the element to stop working? Do I need new element ,? The relays don't look burnt. No-fault codes on the top screen, all look normal.Can not see that by just buying just new element,is the problem here.

I replace the top part of the pump - but it's leaking like crazy now ... can you look at this quick video and make a suggestion? Also i have 2 pumps on this hot tub. Can i just cap off the 2 water leads when i remove this pump and just run it with one pump for a while.
