@GabrielAndre19 күн бұрын
@@Aimqail the battery seemed good. I only used the phone to take photos, so it's hard to tell how it would be loaded with apps and full day regular usage. It rather quickly gets hot when taking photos for a few minutes in 48mp yeah, and somewhat slow too. Other comments suggested that it only happens in 48mp.

Every time i see a Sony A7IV it makes me wanna buy it now over using my Fujifilm XT5.. I just love the colors the A7IV puts out over the slightly colored film sims of fujifilm…..
@GabrielAndreАй бұрын
@@series25a could it be that you like the way the A7IV photos you see are edited / or that you don't enjoy the film simulations so much? I would imagine similar colours can be created with the XT5 by editing raw files. Or what if you shoot a "standard" colour profile on the XT5? Thanks for watching, by the way ✌️
@series25aАй бұрын
@@GabrielAndre Not so much on the edits of the A7IV but I get exhausted having to dial in a film sim on the Fujifilm XT5 all the time and want a flat color since i do post-edits on lightroom. The issue i'm having is even the most flat basic standard setting even after I reset the images still has like a film simulation applied to it.
@GabrielAndreАй бұрын
@@series25a I see. I have never shot Fujifilm so I can't really talk, but when you shoot raw, it stills shows up in lightroom with that sim look? What if you change the profile in lightroom to one of the Adobe one? Adobe color for example? 🤔

@@GabrielAndre I havent tried it but I’ll need to experiment more with the cam… I heard it’s possible to replicate a flat profile but you have to like tone down a lot the color hues settings. I just want to have a custom mode for a flat profile and other with my favorite sims…

1:37 That shutter lag is insane
@GabrielAndreАй бұрын
@@kenjiit yeah, actually I'm not sure if the shutter actually lags (as in actually delays taking the photo), or if it's just the interface on screen and the fake shutter sound the phone makes that is just lagging behind. The photos seem fine, but as the user experience, it sure feels like the device is more or less constantly struggling to keep up when taking a lot of photos (it gets real hot too).
@martinyeung6120Ай бұрын
@@GabrielAndre That is expect when you shoot photos at full resolution but the lag is not too bad on the Pixel 9 Pro XL, same with Samsung phones etc.
@GabrielAndreАй бұрын
@@martinyeung6120 I see. This was my first time using a recent high resolution flagship, so I had no idea. I haven't really looked into it but I understand some phones like iPhone actually "divide" each pixel down to achieve a higher pixel amount. I'm thinking that processing could be a reason why it's slow after pressing the shutter 🤔
@martinyeung6120Ай бұрын
@@GabrielAndre You can try using the default resolution and there is no shutter lag at all plus the difference with full resolution is not really noticeable unless you pixel peeping. I am using Pixel 9 Pro XL too and absolutely love it, nice video btw.

The color grading is way over the top. Does not look real and you have color bleeds into the blacks. It looked muddy. I would suggest that first, use a higher end codec so that it is not 8 bit footage (so many artifacts), shoot in RAW format and take some color grading classes so you can color grade correctly. Look up the video from the late Mark Toia (@DirectorMarkToia) on Vietnam to see what real Hollywood grading looks like. Watch color grading videos from @theqazman and @DarrenMostyn also. View it on a large screen. If it looks good on a large screen, then it is ready to be published.

The stars aligned today and the KZbin algorithm brought me your video. Nice job! I really loved my week in Hanoi and can’t wait to return. I see that you really like to shoot wide open with your Tamron 70-180. I’m looking really hard at the Sony 70-200 f4 II. I would prefer internal focus, but…at half the price, weight, and how compact it is over the 70-200 f2.8 it really looks like a winner. My wife and I travel full time so my camera setup needs to be minimal. Currently I’m shooting with a Sony a6700 with the Sigma 18-55 f2.8 and think it’s a great combo, but I really miss having a longer tele. Have you had the opportunity to try out that lens? I like the effects of the shallow DOF of a 2.8, but find myself mostly shooting around f8 unless at night or really low light. Subscribed.
@GabrielAndre4 ай бұрын
@@scottvaughn7824 thank you so much for watching! In the streets shooting people I feel like f2.8 is good. Allows for more speed, good subject separation and with subjects being not very close to me, it doesn't blur the background into oblivion either. When I'm shooting closer stuff or b-roll etc, I'll most often stop way down too though, like f5.6-8-11, otherwise you've got barely anything in focus and the background just disappears yeah. Regarding what model to get, I used to shoot with the 70-200 f2.8 gm, and that thing is like carrying a new born baby in your arms lol. It's massive and heavy. Might look cool and all, but it's not practical or comfortable in a run and gun scenario. I never had the f4 version, but I'm perfectly content with the Tamron 70-170 f2.8. it's small, about 800g so very comfortable to use, and the image quality is just stunning. Autofocus and reliability has been perfect for me too. The new version has buttons on it too making it easier to use (i still use the old version tho). It's also far cheaper than the Sony counterpart so for this particular lens (70-200 range), it would be my recommendation easily. The Sony versions have in lens stabilization though, if that's a big deal to you. Either way they're all great lenses so you can't go wrong!

what ISO are you running?
@GabrielAndre6 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! For photos at nighttime like this, I'll often set the ISO to 500 or 1000 depending on the needs, so that I don't have to think about it again after and can almost always have a decent shutter speed on A mode. If I see the shutter drop too low, I may adjust sometimes for some particular scenes. For video, how ever high I'll need. Some clips might be 20,000 or something. I'll shoot and if it's not usable then I won't use it. But this is KZbin so technically we can use anything 🙂

Amazing photos, Gabriel! I aspire to take photos like you. Where do you usually keep your exposure (M.M), around -1.0 or 0.0?
@GabrielAndre6 ай бұрын
Thank you very much for your kind comment! Short answer: I guess often around 0. My 2 cents regarding the exposure compensation tool: it's a tool to help you gauge how you should expose for a scene. It'll display different values for the same scene depending on what metering method you set it to, so I wouldn't be able to recommend an "average/safe for most" value. Perhaps the most useful answer I can give you is: I used to set it at -1 (as many people I believe) because it'll "protect your highlights and you can raise the shadows in post". Probably because you can read that everywhere online and many photo gurus say to do that, so when I started I probably just followed... I definitely don't do that now. My exposure compensation will be at whatever it lands at when the exposure seems to be adequate for my subject and the final rendition I have in mind (or at least I'm trying to) so sometimes it could be -2 or +0.7. I just want the best possible exposure for my subject.
@ChillRamblers6 ай бұрын
@@GabrielAndre Thanks a lot, Gabriel! It makes sense. I'm new to photography and bought my first camera (Sony a6700 with Sigma 18-50mm f2.8). And, I generally try to keep it -0.3 or 0 for now. Still trying to understand how to best expose for the subject. I mostly enjoy landscape, but I went to Vietnam last week so wanted to try out street photography too. I searched and came across your video. Very much enjoyed your content. Keep posting, and if possible, do share some tutorials on how to get good photos. Thanks again! Have a great week ahead.
