Great video! Need to cleanout a key on my cp88, no video and yamahas are built like safety boxes. Nords are way easier.

Thanks for coming back! I hate that it’s taken so long but sometimes I stop to make house upgrades, or I get slammed with piano work and I put it aside for a couple months. I feel like I’m gonna stick with it now and try to finish it by summer. We’ll see lol! 😂 My favorite part of this video is that little drive out at 1:44:27. You can really see the progress there!

Lol I know and I wish I could've gotten Pt. 8 done faster but I got slammed busy with my piano restoration work, and that's what's helping to fund the Vaydor so I had to get those done. 😅 Glad it's out now and hopefully I'll get the next one done quicker! Thanks so much for the continued support!

I want to know if replacing the plastic shells on both sides requires removing the screws at the bottom, which is the shell removed in the first step of disassembly, or can it be removed directly? Thank you!
@latenightdiy149617 күн бұрын
I believe you can just remove the bottom side screws and slide those side shells off. Hope this helps!

Anyone who knows how to properly do a custom build like this should be charging at least $50k-$70K. If I were buying all the parts and donor car to build this exact same car again just for someone else, I would want at least $150K. Its a lot of time, skills and dedication to do this.

I have a question about the interior. When you install the dashboard fiberglass inside, what tools do i need to use to install it? And the center console as well.
@latenightdiy1496Ай бұрын
I'm just barely getting started with the interior so I don't have many answers for that just yet. The main thing with the dash is getting it trimmed just enough to make it fit and then see where you need to "fine trim" a little more. It's ok to use self tapping screws to temporarily hold things in place but you'll want to come up with better ways to do the permanent fastening.

hi, was following your video and it was very helpful! I put the keyboard back together after moving the rubber contacts/cleaning. It turns on but no sound now 😢 Do you have any ideas/tips? Would this likely be forgetting to connect some cable?
@dreadjoker102 ай бұрын
figured it out 😂 was really panicking for a few days. The 5 cables, if any of them are disconnected could result in the keyboard turning on but no sound. Turns out not so easy to break even if you're bad at this like me! Just make sure to connect them, some can come loose accidentally. Cheers thanks for video a ton.

Brilliant video, thanks!!! Didn’t;t quite need to go as in-depth as you did - my issue was a broken USB-A port on the back after my son tripped over the cable and yanked it, snapping the port internally….and the n it wouldn;t connect by cable for SmartPianist. One the top control panel was off, it was easy enough to remove the one single circuit board with the connector and de-solder the broken connector and replace it with a new one which cost pennies. All working well now. Spot on!

Absolutely gorgeous!!! I have an Everett grand and previous owners tried to restain it and they thoroughly messed it up. There are drip marks on the side, and it’s really sloppy. I found a couple of spots where I could see the original color and it looks like it was a burgundy semi-gloss which was really pretty. If I want to return it to a burgundy semi-gloss, do you recommend sanding it down? I have no desire to move it and I don’t have a shop to refinish it…

Most likely if someone applied a bad finish, the only correct way to make it better will be to remove all the bad stuff first.

You did a superb job, I’m amazed at how beautiful your piano turned out. I have a 1950’3 Baldwin, it’s a reddish mahogany, beautiful color but it’s not shiny. I have use boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits to clean and then wax it. My question is can you only apply the top coat you used to make it shine, or do you have to sand, re stain then apply the top coat? I’m just curious, I don’t want to change the wood color, just add the shine and protection, I would also have to hire it done since that is not a field of expertise.
@latenightdiy14963 ай бұрын
With the finish system I use its definitely best to remove any other finishes before applying them. Its not easy to get a true professional shine but if you're willing to seek out the correct products, it can be done!

i plan on getting and building one of my own but i have a few questions. Do you know if you can register it and how easy of a process it is to make it street legal? Also when you buy the kit do they give you much instruction on how to build it?
@latenightdiy14965 ай бұрын
As far as registration, it mostly depends on where you are located. In Texas there’s nothing really special as long as it has all the safety features to pass inspection like proper lighting, mirrors, windshield wipers etc...As long as you have the title anyway. I still have the G 35 title so I should be able to get the inspection done and then have it registered once finished. As far as purchasing the kit, the build guide on the Carolina-Vaydor website is incomplete and in the grand scheme of things, it barely gives you any good information for building the car. I highly recommend having years of aircraft or custom car building experience, know how to work with fiberglass and metal work, And really have the ability to think outside the box. There’s a lot to figure out. My videos will probably become the most detailed build guide so far but there are still many things not shown in the videos.

@latenightdiy14965 ай бұрын
Sure. Feel free to ask.
@Northernbreed17386 ай бұрын
Is it correct to assume that there is no adjustability for small positioning of the white keys themselves relative to the gaps between the keys? Reason I ask is that on my P515, there is a bit of inconsistency with the gaps between the white keys across the keyboard, and it would be nice if there was some adjustability to even these out. It's not pronounced enough to cause two adjacent keys to touch, but it's close in a few places. Thanks for the video!
@latenightdiy14965 ай бұрын
I don't think there is a way to adjust them but I haven't actually tried to do that.

They have been rock solid for me! Keep in mind we use these pianos for a piano bar situation and they are played 8-12 hours a day, 365 days a year. I do this repair about once every 6 months of use so that's a ton of playing hours!

Think you should make a side gig building these for people
@latenightdiy14965 ай бұрын
You know it has crossed my mind. Once this one is finished the next one could be done so much faster because there were a lot of things to figure out and I would already have that knowledge for the next one. It really would depend on the money people are willing to spend on having it done. If I built one for someone else, I'd have to be getting at least $150k just because of the time and detail I put into it. To me, its so much cooler looking than most other exotic cars but some people think if its not a real Lambo or Ferrari, that its not worth that much. Its all personal preference.
