I wish you luck but in my opinion a Rover Mini is very poorly built compared to earlier ones and my 78 mini has 14,000 on the clock and virtually no rust, I admire you trying to save it but this is a parts car at best.

It’s original look it’s a classic cause there ain’t nothing like it now there will be nothing like it again again yeah my opinion if you wanna know restore it to its original it’s beautiful it’s British. It’s old school that got history dates back to the 1960s restore it to its originality, take care of it

Late single point injection. Mk7 last throw of the dice ie crash protection & emissions. New throttle cable will allow stepper motor to be reset, allowing ecu to adjust idle revs etc. Totally classless car, everyone remembers their 1st mini. Love what your doing.

Mini s are easy I used to re shell them years ago engines piss easy , transverse engine get a donor car swap everything over onto new Sewell worste part was subframes have to be carefull they don't crab 😊
