Thanks mate, yeah it’s rare haha! Nice sounds good, you have much to do to it?
@N1NJAKIDD9 ай бұрын
@@Burney_ well, the turbo is off at the moment, so I'm taking the opportunity to install an anti surge core, and refit. Oil and filter change. Wheels refurb, remove and replace seats as it has the wingback buckets which are worth 2k alone. Bodywork and interior is immaculate. MOT and sell. It's my own car and has been highly modified. Currently Stage 2+ running a confirmed 390bhp by R-Tech, will probably be over 400 with the anti surge core installed as it gives an typical increase of 10% depending on hardware
@Burney_9 ай бұрын
@@N1NJAKIDD Nice mate that sounds like an awesome build then! Wingbacks defo are rare in them would love to come across one with them in! I don’t blame you for taking them out! Why do people hate wind deflectors 😅? Genuine question- I don’t have any on my S3 but I’d like to understand the hate
@Burney_9 ай бұрын
@@panaroux It’s each to their own I guess some love them some hate them! Sometimes with them on the window doesn’t seal fully when closed as it touches the plastic not instead so can have a minor bit of wind noise! It’s just a preference though not too noticeable 😁

@Burney_11 ай бұрын
Nice mate they’re bullet proof! Mines on 272k at the moment still going strong, would just recommend you re enforce the subframe on a drifter! It’s common they can crack, something I still need to do on mine just a daily though! 😊
@SKOMPAS11 ай бұрын
@@Burney_ so glad to hear, those miles are a bit scary! It’s not rusty like allot of them, but yeah everyone has been warning me about the subframe, not sure wether to get a bracing kit welded in or get a 6 point brace where you drill through the car and bolt the subframe to the brace
@Burney_11 ай бұрын
@@SKOMPAS I genuinely would trust it more than some cars on half the miles though I guess trust is built right 😂 i remember when I got it on around 192k being skeptical but I can say it’s never let me down, sure you’ll feel the same after a few miles! I guess best option is the weld in kits for the boot floor as it usually pulls though there from what I’ve seen! The more the better though 😅

Don't want to burst your bubble but unless your mrs is doing mostly motorway driving 40mpg is a bit optimistic, I had one of those, same colour and spec, when I was running back and forward to work 30mpg was about all I got and that was going by the trip computer. Real mpg was probably high 20's Don't get me wrong, it was a great car, i paid 1200 for mine, kept it a year and sold it for 1600. Only had a couple of things that went wrong, the passenger seat ocupancy sensor failed throwing an airbag light. You can buy a defeat resistor for a few quid but then the seatbelt butler won't work. I had a split turbo pipe, fixed that for 30 quid and that was it. Also its worth turning off the auto fold mirrors in winter, on a frosty morning my passenger side mirror didn't fold out and made a nasty noise and it never worked after that. I used to have BMWs as well but I felt like there was always something broken on them, the merc gave me far less hassle and I now have a 2013 e350 coupe, 18 months in and all its needed is a rear shock absorber. The main thing with mid 90s to 2007/8 mercs is rust, get a solid one and you get a great daily for not much money.
@Burney_ Жыл бұрын
That’s fair enough mate luckily though she pretty much goes straight onto the dual carridgeway way on way to work then a min and she’s there 😂 get what you’re saying though! Not always good as you’d think I can imagine! That’s good though! Not much wrong In the grand scheme of things atleast! Thanks though I’ll bear that in mind aswell! That’s fair enough though I know what you mean I love my BMWs but this is really nice to drive! I don’t blame you tbh I do like the e350s same engine I belive? And look good! Lots more comfort features too I can imagine! That’s nothing for a year I guess that sounds good! For sure though even at they’re age mercs still feel solid and great build quality! 😄
@andybowie8590 Жыл бұрын
@Burney_ cheers fir the reply, yeah the clk changed my mind about mercedes cars, I had a loan of one years ago and thought it felt like a barge to drive, compared to the 5 series bm I had at the time it just wasn't in the same class but they seem to of got things together by the 2nd gen clk, and yeah the e350 is another step forward although a fair bit more money obviously but I got mine remapped, over 300bhp 700nm of torque and its just effortlessly quick, not going to beat any RS3s in it of course but it's plenty for driving to work. Just like you the thing that hit me when I got my clk was how much spec it had for such an old car and that it all still worked. I believe the seat occupancy thing going faulty is due to people kneeling on the seat like if you're reaching into the back for something and put all your weight on one spot so try and avoid that and hopefully it won't break. Enjoy the car and we'll done on the video, I keep saying I'll make one myself but never get round to it.
@Burney_ Жыл бұрын
@@andybowie8590 yeah defo my partner also had a slk 230 manual which I really liked too just a shame they are all convertible! I have an e46 330d as my daily which is a nice car and similar size to the clk both are nice but bmw is more nimble this is better spec and more comfy for sure! Nice that’s more than enough still for a daily driver! I can imagine it’s relentless! Mercs are also known well for their reliability bmw how ever not so much 😂 thank you though mate, it’s never too late right 😄
