Disconnecting the transmission cooling lines will obviously let out transmission fluid. It's the ATF fluid itself that is being cooled there - there is not separate coolant on these transmissions.

Not the first mass-produced BMW turbo engine by far. They had turbo diesels since the '80s but even before, in early '70s they had the 2002 Turbo which was a petrol engine. And so was the early '80s 745i E23.

Really great videos, I’m currently in the market for an E85 or E86 Z4 and your channel is really useful and entertaining. After watching your videos I’m leaning more towards the Coupe, keep up the good work !

I'm currently switching an American spec 128 over to the 130's 3 stage manifold and tune. I've learned through experience that this is the engine to have in at least one of your BMWs, often for when your S85 or S63 is down for major work 😄It's thoroughly enjoyable in a small manual transmission car.

N55 with a big turbo, fbo, meth, hpfp, decent coils and a good tune is all you need. that will easily push 500hp without touching the inside of that motor. thats what i have and its an absolute blast to drive

Which clutch do you upgrade to? I mean if you have an manual 6 gear… 6 manual F20/30 335/340 can upgrade to 550i clutch, I don’t know it fits the e90…?

I think they have the wheels backwards. I know they are doing it for looks, but for performance you want a smaller wheel with more sidewall in the back for better traction.

Yea I'm just waiting another month for mine to get here as I purchased a 2025 with a couple more HP not a big difference and torque, I should see it here by January so they tell me and Its the car of my life, and the simple things i'm going to do to it as far as optics, but the hidden part in the motor i'm making it a low 800hp which is enough for me but around here everyone has at least 1200 hp and above so i'll be racing them from the back and I'm proud considering what they drive you know what i'm saying, Lambos, Ferraris, McLarens and super cars that will just eat me up, but on the other hand they also have BMWs that beat them all as they have over 1200 hp and above HP so yea i'm falling behind in power but i don't care about those fools as they got the money to do so and I'm just a poor individual that picks the right stuff and my car will still be a powerhouse as i'm a great driver but will not push it to the limit as I'm just thinking of owning the car for a couple of years and selling it for the knew M2 if there is one so yea, i'm going to relax take care of my baby girl M2 and when the 2 year is up i'm hoping to have less than 20 thousand miles on it pampered by the way as i'm older now and the car will last me as in my younger days i would give this car 1 month of life and if tuned 1 day and yes i speak from experience so when i get it i'll hit you up send you pics and show you my mods that will maybe make you modify your car as well, but just one thing i must add as far as the handling part make sure you get coil overs as only springs will get you killed nuff said.

i daily drive a 2011 335i xdrive for the last 9 years and these cars have a lot of issues. coils, belts, expansion tank, water pump, thermostat, oil housing gasket, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, blower motor, interior water leaks, i've dealt with all of it.

Im yet to find an owner that hasn't sold it because of reliability issues . Don't get me wrong this is an amazing car to drive and admire. But you'd spend the cars worth in maintenance rather quickly .
@FootToPedal25 күн бұрын
I think there are good ones out there but unfortunately you just never know, alot of these cars do seem to have been run on tight budgets at previous points in time which sadly can mean issues present themselves a few years down the line when we purchase them
@vdubskiee535622 күн бұрын
the thing is 335s are affordable. so the young, broke and dumb fellas buy and destroy them. the market is full of them all neglected. maintence record is key mine is 2011 needed nothing but a water pump eventually in all my years of owning her

Awesome, enjoy the car! I wouldn't worry too much, personally I'm going to be limiting the number of contact washes which is where the ceramic coating will really help because the dirt just falls off! A good frequent snowfoaming should help to keep it looking 90% clean most of the time!

I ordered a 2024 M2, sapphire black , carbon roof, carbon interior, phone charger, HK sound and bi-color wheels. I agree in black or mat colors the car looks so much better --- these colors seem to smooth out the body lines just a touch! I have been lucky enough to own a number of very nice a cars ----- a 1965 356 as well as a number of water cooled 911's, a 1998 M3 as well. All these cars had manual gear boxes. Lots has been said about this car and most of it from folks who don't own or live with one. I have had mine since last April and it has almost 4000 miles on it now. The car is everything you would expect from an M car --- quick, powerful, handles oh so well, it's almost point and shoot! The beauty of this one is it is livable on a daily basis which is so satisfying and something you look forward to every day! I will say the manual transmission for me is nonnegotiable, it's what connects you to the car, but that is becoming a lost art. I love the frozen grey, had it been available in 2024 it would have been a tough choice. I am 66 years old now and as said in the review the gas powered manual transmissions seem to waving goodbye. I won't make the same mistake I made with all the other cars ----- I put them in the garage , admired them and rarely drove them. This one will be different, there is nothing to wait for, this IS my daily driver and I intend to drive the wheels off it!!!

Personally I would go with a 3.0 M54. The N52 seems to add more complexity for just a marginal performance gain. I had an n55 which suffered valvetronic faults and due to the wallet emptying it gave me I would avoid an engine of this generation with it fitted. The M54 also has a much stronger timing chain arrangement.

I recently bought a E90 with the 2.5 litre N52 and it's amazing how much torque it has at low revs. It barely needs to rev above 2000rpm around town and it's smooth like butter. And the top end is surprisingly strong. Great engine and great car.

Bought a E91 touring with the 2.5 litre N52 new in 2005. 19 years on still own it for the reasons stated above. Just too good to sell. Only 45,000 miles on the clock. Drives as new. Amazing!

Doesn’t the John Cooper Works Engine produce just over 300 hp? If yours is making around 230 isn’t that the engine they have is the S series minis?
@FootToPedalАй бұрын
The F56 generation was 231hp and only the F56 GP had the 300hp engine, the F56 Cooper S is around 190hp I believe

Nice car, not gonna lie I didnt like it at first and now I have the exact same colour as yours arriving. Only thing driving me insane is whether to PPF the car due to online horror stories (unless those are there to scare everyone)
@FootToPedalАй бұрын
I think a lot of stuff on the Internet is exaggerated, the frozen paints are actually pretty durable so I wouldn't stress too much but if you want it to stay perfect then probably best to just PPF it, atleast the front end of the car
@Screaming-TreesАй бұрын
I went to put an order in on a new M3 (2025). Wanted the frozen black but it adds 6 additional months of wait time :(. It was already at 6 months. I caved and got the regular paint. Black glossy/metallic whatever you call it. Saved $5100 so I guess there is an upside to not getting exactly what you want. Love the frozen finishes though. Your M2 reminds me of the E39 silver paints. Them's were the days. Thanks for the comprehensive overview though. Not really easy to find content like this. Cheers.
@Screaming-TreesАй бұрын
...also, pretty wild process.

If you want to squeeze the most performance out of this car the zf8 is a no brainer and it’s why I chose it (besides having a lot of time stuck in traffic). Yes the manual is more engaging but this car is a WEAPON and it’s optimized for the zf8 the only annoyance is some lag in manual shift mode vs DCT but you can’t have it all huh? The one thing that surprised me on comfort front is how little wind noise you have on highway even on super windy days and you can barely feel it either (btw I’m comparing this to my new high end Lexus not a Honda civic). Oh last thing, this thing looks great in person and gets a lot of attention so you are not always gonna be able to go under the radar u will get noticed.
