This surely has the M Performance exhaust option on it. Because the stock mufflers don't sound as good as this one does mate... ! 🙂

I have same issue with transmission, when its neutral and clutch up. My car is not BMW Z4 but it is -97 Honda Prelude. I have think to put ATF to my gearbox. I think BMW uses ATF also but there might be case they have but normal gearbox oil in your transmission as in my. Many people are using ATF also in manual gearbox and have better results than with normal normal oil.

I have a z4 coupe auto and sound is different compared to your car. With manual gearbox ,engine sound is More deep at low rpm 3:42 it look like a M sound i dont know if it is only on mine or on all auto box but my engine sound is not same at all however n52 is same with the 2 transmission i still wonder how is it possible as engine sound should be same regardless of transmision type On realoem back box exhaust has different part number on auto and manual ) but not sure it is the culprit i have investigated but dont know where this problem comes from next step is to replace my sound generator . Foot to pedal please if you can try to find an auto box z4 and do a test drive to compare it will help me a lot

Why are these usually always seen in poor condition?

I think its mainly age related at this point, but also a lot of people used these cars as daily drivers so they are often run into the ground. There are still some good ones out there though!

Lovely video, many thanks. My first and current car is an e90 318i from 2008 so my unicorn dream spec is a 335i touring manual in that lovely blue with tan leather. Never seen one like this and I deffo don't have the money but videos like this are vicarious living at it's best! Keep up the good work

I've had sooo many cars over the years but never a BMW. People I know have always told me that the cost of repair would destroy any love for the brand. But recently I've come across a 2009 328i convertible that I just fell in love with only 85k. I'm not looking for top end speed, but wide band of usable power without the worry of the twin turbos. After see this video and a few others, I think I'll have a mechanic look it over, and if it's in great shape I will pull the trigger. Thanks !

The BMW Z4 3.0si Coupe with a manual transmission (828 units in North America) is a standout rarity: - **BMW Z8**: Even rarer with 2,543 units in the U.S., underscoring the exclusivity of both models. - **Audi R8 V10 Manual (First Gen)**: The Z4 is rarer in North America among only 828 units. - **Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1**: Fewer units compared to the ZR1's 4,684 units, the Z4 Coupe maintains a unique appeal. - **Lotus Exige S (North America)**: With similar limited numbers, the Z4 highlights BMW's exclusivity among only 828 units. - **Dodge Viper (Final Gen)**: The Z4's scarcity outpaces this iconic American sports car's approximately 2,000 units, making it a prized addition for collectors and enthusiasts.

Great report. I bought a Z4 2.5i in 2005. Sold it two years later for a 993 Porsche ten years old. Very different cars but both huge fun. Just bought a 20 year old Z4 3.0i with 40k kms on clock with one lady owner for on new always garaged. I love it. Again. And your assessment of the modern auto industry is spot on. Nice cars but too clinical and not for people who enjoy the drive.

Your dash has the engine oil temp? Is that standard for 335i? My 2011 328i xdrive has the l/100km or something like that.
@FootToPedal
@FootToPedal Ай бұрын
Yeah the 335i, similar to the M models, has the oil temp gauge on the dash. It's a very useful one to be fair, but would be good if you could also more easily see the coolant temp as that is not displayed

I'm about to redo my 1992 8v gti. I've let it sit for 24 yrs. I'm going to redo everything. When I had an 89 jetty 8v. I put headers, tectonics exhaust 258 cam, dropped it but not a ton. Eibach springs kyb shocks and an air intake. That was it. But it flew and was a 4 door. The gti is very lite and very fast idkc how much hp it boggies

Very different cars to be honest, to me the N52 in the Z4 is a nicer and more interesting engine, the Z4 is also a lot more physical to drive. The GR86 feels quite small, agile and light on its feet and of course comes with a much newer interior etc. Really depends what sort of experience you're after, both are great cars

They are not in any way a proper sports car; the gearing is far too long, every gear last ages to get through, I find they feel quite slow as a result. They have heavy flywheels so don’t Rev anything like how a Ferrari does, the throttle is slow to respond, and the they feel very ‘diluted’ as if it’s been subdued for the mass market of idiot ms that have no clue about cars. Sure they handle well, but the drivetrain is a real let down, the 996 Carrera engines respond poorly to any modifications apart from a light flywheel. This will shock you but I turbocharged a mk1 Eunos Roadster and it was far more fun than the 996 I got afterwards, diluted and soft, a GT perhaps, certainly not a proper sports car.
