Very nice Hymn & scenery is very theatrical and has lots of art because once at one time the Church was once at the center of the community and so only the finest of artwork was put there is how important it once was but now we live in a Post-Christian age is far from where we were once as Pagans looking for The Truth and turning to the Christian Church to find it but now people find more truth in Science and will say, "I'm Spiritual" or "I'm an Atheist" or "I'm an Agnostic" is now where we are as a Society in the Western World. But Christianity was once an Eastern Religion an Abrahamic Faith like Judaism and Islam too.

Organist is trying to have a little concert at times. I would be tempted with such a beautiful instrument but not with such an amazing cantor!!!!

I feel so blessed that I attended many worship services there. in 1997 my Episcopal church's whole choir attended the All Saints' Day service. The Cathedral Choir was not singing that day, so my choir was invited into the choir loft to sing the entire service. I was over the moon about having been able to do that.

Rest in Peace, Jim Litton, great man, great musician, great leader of music in the Episcopal church. This hymn by Erik Routley was commissioned in Jim's honor, and the tune is called LITTON. 1 November 2022. All Saints Day.

As being an alumni of this choir I will say the boys have never been as loud or as good as many cathedrals in england. But I do think it the placement of the speekers which are always at the back behind the tenors so that is why they are overpowering the boys

O God of Bethel, by whose hand thy people still are fed; who through this earthly pilgrimage hast all our fathers led: Our vows, our prayers, we now present before thy throne of grace: O God of Israel, be the God of their succeeding race. Through each perplexing path of life our wandering footsteps guide; give us each day our daily bread, and raiment fit provide. O spread thy covering wings around, till all our wanderings cease, and at our Father's loved abode our souls arrive in peace! Such blessings from thy gracious hand our humble prayers implore; and thou shalt be our covenant God and portion evermore.

A good organist that can play hymns can lead a congregation in singing this. When I have been in a cantor situation, the people let the cantor sing and they listened.

Too much organ for such feeble singing. Sadly, organists get carried away when put in charge of a gigantic toy with batteries of powerful sound effects - it seems to be all or nothing.

it may also have to do with mic placement and quality -- regardless of the registration used on the organ.

1 Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home; all is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin. God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied; come to God's own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home. 2 All the world is God's own field, fruit as praise to God we yield; wheat and tares together sown are to joy or sorrow grown; first the blade and then the ear, then the full corn shall appear; Lord of harvest, grant that we wholesome grain and pure may be. 3 For the Lord our God shall come, and shall take the harvest home; from the field shall in that day all offenses purge away, giving angels charge at last in the fire the tares to cast; but the fruitful ears to store in the garner evermore. 4 Even so, Lord, quickly come, bring thy final harvest home; gather thou thy people in, free from sorrow, free from sin, there, forever purified, in thy presence to abide; come, with all thine angels, come, raise the glorious harvest home.
