Size of the building? How many feet between posts?
@GolschHayFarms
@GolschHayFarms 14 сағат бұрын
40x65 enclosed with a 40x30 carport. The distance between posts varies from 12.5’ to 20’ for the enclosed and the post spacing for the carport is 30’

Finally someone that got the weights actually right very good video Exactly the right weight for what the average 4 x5 round bales weight I’ve had two new Holland Baler, John Deere Baler, full pressure nut wrap, you get between 700 and 800 about 12% moisture doesn’t matter if it’s grass or alfalfa

I am building something similar, my plan is to insulate like y'all did but i am worried about condensation. Most are spraying these but that is a cost of like to avoid. Have you had any issues wiith condensation?

I'm glad to see that you guys didn't use spray foam for insulation, that stuff is highly flammable.

I’m impressed with this design for a diy building, no trusses to make, just some angles to cut. I’m sure it would get more expensive being engineered for snow load.

Just stumbled onto this video as I just finished a similar building that is 36 x 50. One thing that worries me is your building doesn't look braced enough. I say this coming from somebody that has built buildings in the past that were damaged by wind. Judging by your flat terrain, I'm going to say you get some strong winds. If you ever get a wind blowing into the front of that shed, there is going to be a tremendous pressure on that roof and walls trying to blow out. I think you should consider some angle braces on the post and some cable X bracing in the ceiling and side walls. All factory designed metal buildings of this size have both of these.

any reason why you didn't spray foam? Just curious because all other videos I've seen on barndos they used spray foam

Probably around 22,500 for a 36’ gooseneck with 24 rounds. Tongue weight is probably fifteen to twenty percent of that so 4000# on the hitch. Looks like a one and a half ton truck so it should be fine. It’s just in low gear because of the turf.

hey man i dont know if this would or woulda helped but there are two other things you can do with the hydraulic pressure. Next to the left back wheel theres a screen you might need to take it out and clean it and the next is theres a hydraulic pump behind all those gears in the gearbox.

Is there a slant on your roof? Also, where did you order your roof beams from? I think you mentioned a thicker beam does not need support in the middle. Great video.

If you rake at the time when it’s ready to bale does that break the alfalfa leaves off? I’d like to do this but I do alfalfa and green feed. And I don’t want to break it apart and lose feed
