In Colorado the Con of deleting the grid heater is your truck doesnt start. The Pro is that it does start. Ha ha! Great video and I am glad your truck is back up and running again. Keep up the great work!!

Fleece makes a coolant bypass kit to get more coolant across all cylinders. This coming from 6.7 powerstroke guy you cannot beat the sound of a 6 in a row diesel. Would love to test out a ram but with current truck prices I'm keeping the powerstroke longer for sure lol!!

Too late now but the big pro to doing the grid heater delete is the path of air flow is not as sharp. If you look at it, the heater sits down in the air track and then the air has to make more than a 90⁰ turn to get to the back cylinders. In the few times that it gets really cold enough to need a grid heater in sotex, just plug the ol girl in.

Problem with adding drawers to those boxes is the price. Boxes that fit are insanely over priced. I cut the back wall out of mine and moved it out 4” to fit a set of drawers I had. They wanted 3k+ for drawers. It’s only steel. Cut it and make it fit

How many miles are on that truck? That’s one sweet stout work truck man. I wouldn’t sell that truck for anything, they’re hard to find in a 4500 size. Color match the bed, you won’t regret it

#6 is down on compression, you can hear it in the uneven cranking. Sell it before it really costs you money.

Milling the head increases compression. It will probably use more oil...

The job of the thermostat isn't to "cool" the engine. Running a cold thermostat like that is not good for it. 195 degree thermostat is what that engine needs. Diesels need to run around that range to be efficient. Towing it may not cause an issue but driving around empty it's just running the engine inefficient. This guy does a really good break down of it. If you're overheating with a 195 thermostat you have bigger issues. A 180 is just delaying the overheat. This guy explains it a lot better than I can on a comment. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHrUaGeljJekiK8

Truck is working all the time, even unhooked. It's heavy. Anything to help it run cooler. I like the temp range it sits at.
@CPSteveMiller2 жыл бұрын
@@GolschHayFarms Yeah you have that advantage. I'm the same way just not nearly as heavy. I sit around 16,000 to 26,000 gross all the time. If you were empty all the time there would be a lot of premature wear. In the winter time with my factory 180 t stat I'd sit around 165 degrees and it would never warm up and get poor mileage. Loaded with the 195 it actually stays up to temp
