Thanks for sharing!! I plan on using this technique on my 74 Cuda.

Good video, does the axle have a step on it so when you install the bearing that it stops in a certain spot?
@DavidReaDBRestorations28 күн бұрын
The bearing has a snap ring that catches the flange that only allows the bearing to go in so far in the housing.

Hey Dave.....i know this is an video BUT its still valuable! I used the same kit and mine was bought theu POL. Everything bolted up the exact same way HOWEVER did you have a problem getting the driver side parking brake cable snapping in at both ends??? I replaced mine because they were all rusty and the new one was the same length that they all are...35" or so but the cable casing isnt long enough to clip in on both ends. I thinks because the caliper is mounted on the trailer side of the diff. I had enough play on the passenger side to make it work. Why cant I get my regular length cable to snap in?

I'm doing a 67 Barracuda. Replacing both 1/4's trunk floor, both extensions, rear valance and several patch panel where mice were living for many years. Looks like the things I'm replacing on the Barracuda are the only things you didn't replace on the Challenger. I enjoy your videos.

How are them "new-school" green bearings holding up? Heard nothing bad bad things about them (quick wear, full failures, rides only on a small part of the bearing versus the full tapered ones, etc.) Originals have lasted 50+ years, so not sure why everyone converts to them? Is it just an availability thing?

Hey Dave, I tried installing this kit on my Dart today. Are the brake pads suppose to be sort of "floating" in the caliper? I've never done disc before. It looked and sounded like yours were rubbing too. My pads are touching the rotor a tad bit. I thought this was wrong and took them off. Does it continue to stay like that or does it get worked out at some point? I can't understand why the pads would rub.
@DavidReaDBRestorations6 ай бұрын
Yes, they will float in the caliper and drag on the rotor, not to the point where they are applying pressure but they will drag to keep the rotor clean and prevent debris from getting in between the rotor and pad.

To remove the pin sleeve, just lay the pin on a vice or anvil, strike the bushing a few times with a hammer, causing it to expand. Then it slips right off. I've done hundreds of them.

Im a big fan of ratty old Mopars! I appreciate the video. I'm currently working on a couple of my own. My next project is the disc brake conversion on my wife's 66 Charger. I bought it with the kit included. I'll post it on my channel.

Great vid Dave, really learned a lot. Love the shaker but I'm glad my Challenger didn't come with one. With all the carb tuning I've been doing lately the shaker would be off more than it would be on lol!

Hey David. I'd be interested in learning more about the Shaker on the 392 Hemi. We're about to do something similar to ours. I've been wondering how to mount it, how to make it look "stock". Thanks a ton.

Good to see you Dave. I was literally thinking of you the other day!!! Thank you for the fresh air intake tutorial. I didn't realize so much engineering went into it. I can definitely see where it would be a pain in the ass to work on the car a lot if you had to continue to take that off and then back on. But like I said, thanks for the tutorial. I don't think I've ever seen seen that even on the "other show"!!! Be well bud!!!

Hi all, excellent video, if you don't have a welder you can use a cape chisel to cut the sleeve after 1st. Removing the rubber. This works well... 5minutes tops keep the chisel sharp. Good luck 🇺🇸
