Been to Dubai 12 times over 7 years. It is losing its appeal and no longer as attractive. Also the eco system is too artificial. Real estate returns and growth in KL have a lot of upside potential, whereas the market in Dubai has very limited upside as prices have maxed out with very little meat on the bone. The chance of a price correction is also much greater in Dubai. Kuala Lumpur over the next 10 years is definitely the place to be if you have vision. KL is basically where Dubai was in 1995 with unbelievable potential. Also, the Malaysian government are very smart and have realised this position, that is why their are so many amazing projects in the pipeline.

Please for the love of God, do your research if you move to Saudi. Don’t move here idealistically. I’ve been living here for years but read your contract sisters and brothers. It will be isolating if you are coming here as a single person. No your salary won’t be a golden package. Don’t judge the cost of living based on your purchasing power as a pilgrim or tourist from the West. There is inflation here. Your faith will be tested here too. Yes it’s a good country to practice faith but the fitna of consumerism and the haram is everywhere so don’t let your spiritual guard down. Yes it’s a wonderful country but it can feel flat and boring at times so you’ll really need to find some other hobby besides shopping malls. Find a community. No it’s not Dubai so don’t come here thinking it is. Respect the culture and try your best to integrate. Learn the language and embrace the culture. Don’t keep to your bubbles as some expats do.

Yes I agree, I was going to settle in Dubai but I’m not married, i did my research and realized that I want to be married before moving to Dubai. Above all, I value love, friendship and real connection to material possessions, so Dubai would be great for everything else except for finding real love. When God blesses a man with me as his wife, then we can move to Dubai together and build a life. That’s my prayer so Dubai is on hold for now. 😊
