I recently purchased the Cressi Patrol BCD. This video helped me with my decision; Thanks. I'm a new diver so I don't have a lot to compare it to other than the lowner from my dive school. which was a wrap around. I was advised by my instructor that a back inflate would assist in trimming out. This BCD definitely kept me level and assisted in proper trim. I did a lot of research before buying. It was reasonably priced and looks to be good quality.

Just bought it, didn’t dive with it yet but first two days as a sports watch were just amazing. I love the visualisation of my bike route can’t wait to see how does it summarise my dives. The feature I’d like to have is tracker so I could find my Suunto if I lost it.

Garmin Descent G1 can be purchased for half price of the Suunto Ocean at the moment. Yes it doesn't have air integration and color screen, but it's like 400 euro less.
@krisdalziel331127 күн бұрын
The Garmin Descent is like buying Hi-Tech trainers when you really want Nike, in the long run (excuse the pun), you won't miss the money but will enjoy all the benefits of Nike.
@X2deff27 күн бұрын
@@krisdalziel3311The problem is that it doesn't bring any benefits for me. It just looks better and that's all. Except air integration everything else is possible with Garmin Descent G1 and if you want top of the line it's Garmin Descent MK3 series not Suunto Ocean. I don't see any game changer there. They should lower the price and maybe release a cheaper option without air integration.

@@X2deff I'm a 52-year-old Master Scuba Diving Instructor, I have been as instructor for over 30 years. I've used all sorts of Computers and watches during my time, including my Submariner, because I can :) No offence meant but I am not just a diving instructor, I like the extra functionality that the Suunto brings because I can wear it every day for just about any activity, this watch brings that to the party, but the Garmin doesn't. I prefer function and the Suunto even comes in cheaper than the Garmin. I've used many Garmin watches, they are pretty good but I'll stick with Suunto for this choice. Thank you for your thoughts though, it isn't just about the cost for me, frankly, I don't care about the cost at all because it's supposed to save my life so my choice is my choice as yours is yours. At this moment I still use my old Suunto Stinger and it works like a dream :) Now that was expensive 22 years ago.

Thank you for a great review. Can I see the compass while diving? In the manual, I did not see what button activates it.
@TheScubaProfessionals29 күн бұрын
With the current firmware version compass cannot be activated in dive mode. But you can access it in all other modes including free dive. Suunto have said they will activate underwater compass functionality very soon with a software update. I believe they are still testing it to make sure it’s 100% before they release it, so when it is released your unit will automatically update via the app and the compass functionality will be activated.

Needs a metal band option. Price isn't bad but a metal band will sell it to me. I have a garmin mk2i with titanium band paid 1650usd (sale), with pod and leather strap this suunto is 1430usd msrp.

Yes it would be great to get this unit with a steel or titanium band as these definitely last longer than the other straps! We will let the suunto agents know about this when we see them again 😀

How is the lock? Is it strong enough?
@TheScubaProfessionalsАй бұрын
HI, I have used these as an instructor for the past year and never had a problem, once locked in place they are 100% secure, you just need to be careful when removing and re-inserting them. You need to make sure the pin lines up with the holes when putting the pins back in as you can bend them if you are not careful.

HI, have you tried to hard reset it? Then do firmware update and sync to see if that clears it. If that does not help best to bring it back to the guys you bought it from or send it into the nearest Garmin support centre for them to run a diagnostic.

What size do you suggest? I’m size UK8 and will wear them with 3mm socks.
@TheScubaProfessionalsАй бұрын
The Quattro comes in a size 8-9uk so this would be best with a 3mm sock if you are 8uk as the foot pocket is bigger compared to other fins.

HI, they are a relatively stiff fin, if you looking for something softer then the scubapro seawing Nova 2 fin may be better. But you do get used to them very quickly, they are not as stiff as a Mares Quattro, but they are stiffer than the older scubapro seawing nova 2

I love the wristwatch style, however it seems SP is using a low resolution display. All fonts have pixelated portions. SP should have used a better display in one of its tops.
@TheScubaProfessionalsАй бұрын
HI Diogro, yes we have noted the same on the consol mounted unit, although the edges are pixelated it is a much bigger screen so we have found it is still quite easy to ready, we would assume that if SP used an LCD screen it may use more battery to power such a big screen space and maybe that why they went for the lower resolution. But we think due to the sheer size of the screen the slight pixelation has not been an issue for us.
