I have a question that noone mentions!?? Does the water stay cool in summer months? I live in florida and i would love to build a pond in a vouple years. I was thinking to dig the bog very deep to help keep the water cool. We have natural springs near by and it would be amazing if i can match that tempeture in the summer months

If you're gonna peel them, why do you remove the brown spots? My grandpa used to just soak in water and all of the thorns gets removed. Then to remove skin he would cut the skin on both ends, then 1 vertical slit and it would open like a book :D Maybe this outdates as he also used to cut them with just a newspaper (No gloves)
@UnitedRanch4 ай бұрын
I try to remove most thorns including the small ones at the brown spots if I freeze them for later smoothies. If I just eat them raw I do like what you said in cutting them… here’s a short video showing what I do…EASILY Harvest Prickly Pears (Tunas)!🤠🌵 kzbin.infoQQ6znYo09co?feature=share

the plants get hundreds of them and all you really need to do is remove the ends, the ends barely have any fruit anyways and then slice lengthwise. only on the skin layer don't slice into the core itself and peel the skin off.
