The 747-400 was still new at this point in time. Crazy to think that many airlines now no longer operate the 747, especially in passenger service. With the exception of Lufthansa, that is!

I like this video. It reminds when I flew a similar Lufthansa jetliner from Frankfurt to Sydney via Singapore. That was a very enjoyable flight since the flight attendants were very kind to me and made sure that I had an unlimited supply of Heinekens. The flight lasted about 24 hours including stopovers in Singapore and Melbourne, which is still my longest flight in one aircraft although the crew was changed after we arrived in Singapore

Ricordo bene il giorno dopo la tragedia, quando venne data la triste notizia, in quanto vivevo nei pressi del luogo di questa disgrazia. Quell'estate a Zurigo al cinema proiettarono il film Mary per sempre, per altro in lingua originale con i sottotitoli in tedesco. Ero molto rattristato che oltre a tutte le vittime c'era anche Roberto. Mi dispiace tantissimo per la sua famiglia. Sulla montagna Stadlerberg, su una roccia, sono scalfiti tutti i nomi di cui anche il suo. R.I.P Roberto Rino Dilugano Ps: nella puntata 18X8 INDAGINE AD ALTA QUOTA che si trova in rete c'è la ricostruzione della tragedia.
