I was in an abusive relationship as a teen. Thankfully However I got out. I have no sympathy for the women who's stay when pregnant or have children repeatedly with the abuser. If THEY stay that's THEIR choice, but children have no say. People know how history repeats so they know exposing children to DV has such devastating repercussions on the child growing up and either accept this behaviour, or even turning into an Abuse*r. Also the mothers are directly responsible if the children end up being kill*d by the father/ abus*r

I know someone who is in an abusive relationship. She has kids 4 kids and one of them is from the guy that is abusing her. She really doesn't have anyone to help her get away from him. Her family doesn't care about her. She is actually staying right now in a motel because she doesn't have anywhere to go. What really makes it bad is the man who is abusing her is paying for the room because she doesn't have anyone else and of course he take advantage of the fact he can stop paying for the room and her and the kids will be on the streets. This man is very mean to her. He tells her that her kids would be better off without her alive. A few years back she called me about 9 o'clock at night crying scared because he had took a towel and put it around her neck and pulled her through the kitchen and he also pushed her down and broke the top of her hand. I just feel bad for her because I don't know what to do. She needs someone to help her get some kind of place for her and those babies to be safe away from him. She also knows that she will need to get an restaining order against him because he told her if she ever left him. He would find her and make her regret it. We want stop until we get a place for her and those kids to be in a safe happy home.

I dont know what it is, I’m not a doctor but he seems to have something going on mentally and seems pretty severe and needs attention. In it’s ridiculous that Shawna thinks she the victim in anyway and the father can’t understand why the daughter is behaving the way she is. Shawna is a lazy abusive bully. Shawna loves that the therapist told her to have the daughter do chores as punishment because all she has to do is provoke to the daughter and then when the daughter reacts she calls it disrespectful. The grandmother needs to stop protecting Shawna and start protecting the granddaughters if she calls the cops on Shawna and James it’s gonna take the jury members 45 seconds to find them guilty then well they are in jail she can file for custody of the granddaughters. There are times when you have to practice tough love and Shawna needs a heavy dose of it.

Thankyou so much for sharing your story, it may save another womans life...This is such an important issue, as a survivor do domestic violence I find these shows very hard but I count my blessings that I had a friend who got me out of the situation. I thought I was going to die in the last attack, I ran and haven't looked back, I think the fact that he was smiling as he was punching me made me see the reality. My love for him ended that day after going back time and again. I am 61 and I am free.

She is coming across as me me me, and "don't tell me am a bad mother" she needs to do the right thing,learn what works with him. My grandson is in the process of being diagnosed with Autism, and we as a family are also learning how to make his life easier. This is what this woman needs to do, for her sake aswell as and most importantly her sons sake.

I was on amitryiptaline for migraines and it made me completely suicidal. I didn’t tell anyone what was happening until I overdosed deliberately on opiate prescription pain meds and was hospitalised for detox and a psych evaluation. It’s a dangerous medication/drug. Thankfully, because I had very young children, the overdose was a treatable amount as I stopped myself part way through taking the meds, but as soon as I stopped the Ami my mood was fine and I stopped waking up every day visualising hanging myself. I will never allow myself to be prescribed such drugs ever again. It is ok for some, but for others it is literally a living nightmare. This poor girl, whatever happened 😢😢
