From the camera angle it is pretty obvious what is still bent and could be at least partially bent back to the correct position. At the damaged corner there is an end portion of the metal top that was made to be bent down about 90 degrees, but is bent farther than that due to the accident. Bending it back to 90 degrees would help a lot.

You joke about this not being very “watchable”, but I’ve been listening to it on and off, bit by bit, every day since it was uploaded. You are just very pleasant to listen to in general! But it’s also good to pick up bits of info here and there. Sometimes I listen to very dense videos, crammed with information, but uploads like this are nice as well.

Hi. I really enjoyed your review of the czur Et24 pro. I appreciated you commentary significantly. You are so clearly more knowledgeable than I so your observations were very enlightening. Did you ever find that czur's software improved and gave other scanning formats? (besides jpeg)? Do you think that that issue might be Mac specific? What about multiple small images like receipts? Or multiple small photos? And the dark stroking around the letters and images, did that get resolved? I was looking for a scanner that I could use to scan my late mother's artwork? Most of her work was rather small (ledger sized and smaller). I want something to give me the highest quality (museum quality?) but I don't know enough about how to do these things to know where to go for help or even who/what/where to ask. I want to give my siblings, there children and (eventually) their children impeccable quality images of their great grandmother's work and legacy. The 24Mp quality seemed quite high, but clearly (from your demonstration) this scanner isn't the best way for me to go. Do you have any suggestions as to ways that I might go to get the very highest quality archival copy images of my mom's art? Thank you for your detailed review. James Eustermann ([email protected])

From what I've seen, it doesn't really matter. There's still only two connecting wires for each style, so it just depends on what system you'll be plugging it into.

Maybe they were just using the term out of scope… or it’s a nickname. 🤷♂️ Slingbox has been shut down for some time.

Hello, sorry, question: about the video problem at the end of your video: in MONITOR CONTROL, how many monitor did the MAC see? I mean, just 1 (his monitor) or 2 (his monitor and the videovision)? Maybe yoy must tell to the mac to use the second monitor as output monitor. Maybe. 🙂

well, i make videos on my retrocomputing youtube channel and i understand you. We spend a lot of hours, night and day, just to create 15' or 20' of video to publish. It's a battle, my we love old computers so we accept these difficult situations. We are very very persevering 🙂

I was a bit misled by the title, technically you "rescued" the game from not loading properly. Your battery still worked and you also had backed up the game previously using the Mega Memory Card. Still nice to see the troubleshooting process, but not what I was hoping this video was going to be 😔
@Mac8428 күн бұрын
If you want to get technical... I repaired the broken solder joints on the chip of the PCB. Regardless of if I had a backup or not, I was able to repair the functionality of the cartridge. Sure, the original save data would be lost, but the game would function. Sadly, if the battery had expired or if the chip's solder had weakened, there would have been no way to recover any data. I thankfully had a backup. KZbin only promotes videos with a catchy thumbnail or title. It's a real pain to try and walk that line between grabbing eyes and intentionally misleading folks. I try not mislead folks, while it seems 90% of other creators do this to make an extra buck and get your click.

An LC was the first Mac I owned when I was young. I loved that thing and used it all the time. My father worked at a computer store and could often get good deals on secondhand computers and parts, and somehow that LC ended up getting combined with parts from a few other computers over the years. I still have the result, which is pretty funny to look at - the front says LC on it, the bottom says LC II, and inside is an LC 475 logic board. I just recently I got it back up and running again, with a BlueSCSI replacing the poor dying hard drive inside. No recapping has been done yet and it still seems to work correctly - the internal speaker is a bit iffy at times, but everything else is solid as a rock. I keep it around mostly for old games since emulation just isn't the same. It's still one of my favorite computers ever.
