@CarChatPodcast Excellent discussion, Gents! 👍👍 I'm not sure if Lee Gray will be following these comments, but as a 30 year (mostly amateur) concert percussionist and jazz drummer/saxophonist, I'd be really interested in discovering a few of the specific classical/symphony orchestra and jazz performances and recordings Lee would suggest playing to demonstrate the incredible attributes of their products? I've been a musician since the 1980s and have also been designing and building my own DIY loudspeaker systems and some of the electronics since the mid-90s for my high-end home, home studio, and car audio systems, which have all Incorporated multi-channel DSP and amplifier systems from the beginning. In the early days I used the pro audio RANE RPM-88, dbx DriveRack480, and other pro audio loudspeaker management processors, on up to the modern DEQX systems to incorporate fully-configurable crossover network filters, digital delay/time alignment, phase, and PEQ, etc. The use of multi-channel DSPs are an absolute necessity if you're trying to produce a truly high-end system in any type of vehicle, and IME the high-end aftermarket car audio manufacturers are way ahead of the vast majority of home audio manufacturers in regards to incorporating this technology. An extensive bit of properly combined and applied sound & vibration damping & acoustic noise treatment products are also incredibly important to implement in order to reduce both road/engine/exhaust/tyre/wind noise from the vehicle itself as well as any interior trim panel buzzing, rattles, and resonances which will detract from the achievable sound quality of the system. In this regard, the best products and application guides I've found and used to date are available from Nick Apicella at ResoNix Sound Solutions. I've even gone so far as to build custom 12v PSUs to convert the above-mentioned Pro Audio DSPs for 12v car audio use. But there are now (and have been for many years) a plethora of 12v car audio specific multi-channel DSP and DSP-Amplifer products on the market. I'd be very interested to hear exactly what products Lee used in the bespoke DeLorean car audio project, including the DSP unit, amplifiers, source unit, and transducers/speaker/subwoofer drive units, as well as how he went about performing the acoustic measurements...REW, Smaart, SysTune, TüN, Open Sound Meter, and the microphones/techniques that were used, etc? IMO, that could be a great podcast in and of itself, as I've been installing these types of high-end systems in my own vehicles as well as friend's and family's vehicles since the 1990s. I've also been lucky enough to use some of the finest loudspeaker drive units in my DIY home, home studio, and car audio system projects, including Mundorf AMT, ATC, B&G Planar, RAAL Ribbons, Scanspeak Revelator & Illuminator, SEAS Prestige, Acoustic Elegance IB15/18AU Apollo subwoofers, Accuton, Purifi, Dynaudio Esotar2, Ciare, BMS Concentric, BlieSMa beryllium, Focal Utopia, and others. IF you have the space available in your home listening room, as well as the budget, I wholeheartedly agree with Lee & Company regarding the sonic attributes of these no baffle/open baffle loudspeaker systems which incorporate programmable multi-channel DSP crossover network filter systems, along with the latest high-efficiency Class-D amplification. One of the more affordable entries into these types of active loudspeaker systems would be the Siegfried Linkwitz LX521.4 Dipole loudspeakers, who/which Lee mentioned borrowing quite a bit of inspiration from. Crikey! I apologize for the long-winded comment, but I just wanted to chime in and state my interest and appreciation for this technology and topic. Thanks for sharing. 👍 Cheers P.S. Ha! The overland journey to Longreach is certainly an adventure! One of my nieces, who is otherwise a bonafide Brisbane "city girl" (petite & beautiful, but as aggressive and dangerous as a "drop bear" LOL), ended up committing to a 2-year stint as an MD/OT in Longreach & the surrounding area. We were a bit shocked, but she liked it so much that she extended her stay another 2 years! Heaps of crazy experiences & stories as well! We didn't get to see her much during that time and worried a bit now & then, however, she has finally returned to Brisbane to pursue some of her other goals and dreams.

I wish more people could hear a proper hifi, if you average out cost per hour of usage and enjoyment $20,000-$100,000. Soundsystem over its lifespan let’s say 10-15years is way cheaper than a car. No insurance, gas, maintenance and Limited depreciation, about 50%. note, I am also a petrol head/ motor head, Long history of modified Saabs, Volvos. I know there are better cars, but these are cheap used and reliable and with a few thousand dollars can become decent cars

I would wager it has more to do with the soft neutral backdrop, a relaxed, diffused light source, and the exposure being perfectly balanced than the actual camera selection. While anyone can turn a fancy camera on and point it at themselves, the real craft is composing the set and subject in a way that does justice to the technology and engineering that lies behind the lens.

A Tesla plaid is pretty slow on a track buddy, you must be American seeing as that's what you think is fast. A Tesla Plaid Track Pack(7:25.231) is slower than a BMW M3(7:23.975) around the Nurburgring, and MUCH slower than the M4 and the Taycan, so no its not a fast car. It's pretty average, only Americans who's most qualified driver can't even go around corner without crashing would think that's fast.
