Hello and thank you for this very helpful video! Lifesaver! What do you use to reattach the grip to the camera? You mentioned you would show at 1:53 but didn't see a re-assembly video. Thank you!
@Thebobfactor8 күн бұрын
Hi. I hope to get more videos for this series completed soon. What I have found that works best for reattaching the grip to the camera, is a good quality doubled-sided tape. It seems to work better than some of the glues that I have tried in the past. The tape holds the grip on very well, and you can still remove the grip if you need to. Here's a link to some double-sided tape that I have used on my Sony camera. This pack of tape includes multiple sizes in the pack, and I found the strips that are 3/16" wide to work the best. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09LT1Z76H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As everyone else said very nice videos and a lot of thanks for sharing your knowledge. I have a 60d with very low shutter count (around 5000). It has been a while since last time i used it. I decided to resume taking pictures with it, charged the battery and everything was fine. Next day it would not turn on, tried the usual trick with the shutter button pressed for 30s. But nothing. Bought a new battery and a new memory card, it turned on but when i shut it off, it did not turn on again. With the shutter button trick sometimes it turns on, works perfectly, but when I switch it off, I have to repeat the push button trick few times to be able to turn it on again… In your experience a faulty power board can make this happen? Can the camera work perfectly and have only problem in powering on?
@Thebobfactor15 күн бұрын
That sure is an odd one. Generally I've found that when a power board goes out, nothing works at all. It doesn't work intermittently as it's doing with you. My guess at this point would be that the power board is not bad. But, I'm not sure what it might be. It doesn't act as if it's a loose connection at all. Something you could try first, is to replace the bios battery. I've read where some people have had issues with the camera operation when the battery needs replaced. It would at least give us a starting point to go on. Here's a video by DiCasaFilm, that shows how to replace the battery: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIe9fZeJpN9kjpY. Let me know how you make out on it.

@ thanks for the replay. I watched the video you are referring to, In the beginning I thought the same but then I noticed that the time and the date were kept correct so I thought that the internal battery was indeed having some life left into it. Now if s getting even stranger… tired of trying resetting and restarting I left it there with a charged full battery and the new sd card. I picked up yesterday and it turned on. I tried on and off few times and it worked, changed the battery and it is still working… will see what the future reserves… if this “glitch” repeats I will try to change the internal battery.

@@Stian_2023 If the cable is torn, even just partially, then it will need to be replaced. Except in a few cases, it's almost impossible to repair a torn cable. I would suggest looking for a broken A4000 on eBay, and then use that same cable from it to replace the torn cable. The power button may still work if the cable is only partially torn. Sorry I can't be more help.

I am looking for a route to summit Elephant Peak… any suggestions? Looking at Rock Lake side and the St. Paul Lake as well…
@Thebobfactor2 ай бұрын
Hi Shawn. I have not summited Elephant peak, but I have talked to many that have. One problem that I've heard with the Rock lake / Libby lakes route, is that there is one location where ropes are needed. It did prevent one group of hikers a couple years ago from reaching the top because of that. I haven't heard of anyone going from St Paul lake to the top of Elephant peak, but a friend of mine did go the other way, from the peak to St. Paul lake. It didn't sound like he had any problems, other then with a lot of brush. A route that I think would be worth checking into though, and I have had a friend who did go this route, is from the Libby creek drainage side. I've been up that way in the drainage many times, and always look at that route. To me, it seems like a good way to go, and if I ever decide to do Elephant peak, I will try that route first.

Even though the TZ60 and TZ80 physically have the same size of LCD screen, I am not sure if it will be the same process to remove the LCD screen, and if the screw layout is the same. I would guess though that they would be quite similar.

@@Thebobfactor thank you. I'll take a look at screws and see if I've got a small enough screwdriver to open it.
I followed your repair I had to clean out the lens and it was a success but it didn't last that long... So recently I was about to record a KZbin video with the Lumix but when I set the on it a tripod and started recording the video I noticed the video was giving this weird shaking effect in the video while the camera was focusing. Normally it would stop doing that for 4 seconds when the camera has it in focus but when zooming in while focusing it was doing it again it was even worse I could even hear the camera focusing quite loudly..
@Thebobfactor3 ай бұрын
It sounds as if there is something out of align, or something broken if it is shaking that badly and also causing the motor to be that loud. Normally I would suspect that there is sand or dirt inside the small channels that are inside the plastic tube sections, but since you just tore it apart and cleaned it, that wouldn't be the case. Tearing it apart and cleaning everything again, in hopes that something was missed, is about the only suggestion that I have. Unfortunately, as you and I both know, that's a big job. Sorry I can't be more help.

I have always gone to eBay for camera parts. In some cases when I can't find the individual part that I need, I will look for a "for parts, or broken" listing of the same camera make and model, as long as it appears that the camera doesn't have an issue with the part that I am needing. 🙂
