I have my own struggles, for sure, but I am very concerned for an older neighbor of mine who is struggling with a deep depression. She told me "My life is OVER and I don't give a Sh&t! I go from the kitchen to my bedroom!" her husband has dementia and she always depended on him; a once very buoyant man who was born in a concentration camp in Germany. She is French, an artist, always prone to depression. Now she is feeling very hopeless and negative. I don't know what to say or do. They don't have internet, not even mobile phones, so communication is difficult. My heart is heavy for them both. They are such beautiful people and they are breaking my heart. I'm so glad I found you, I will bring my phone to them and show them your videos. Thank you!

I am far from perfect. Who is? but I have a sister who is a mess in man ways. I told my daughter on Thanksgiving that if I gave a signal to her to start recording my sister and her behavior to be shown to her at a later date because she has NO idea how she acts. Sometimes we can 'remote view' ourselves but also people we care about need to be shown how they behave when the are unaware. Well it didn't happen but I wish it did. Lesson learned was how MY reactions to my sister's disregulated behavior affects ME and all of us in her presence. Very important! Thank you!

Hello Emmy van Deurzen, this video has high value for me, and was automatcally translated by AI (with a terrible robot voice that is not yours) into German language (KZbin knows that I am located in Germany). I cannot put the audio to origin, different functions tell that only the video creator has influence on making AI automatic translations or not, its about KZbin set ups in the KZbin creator's studio. Please take this comment as a friendly feed back that KZbin has put up this new "service" recently, thank you and 🙏from a long time follower of your channel

The best speech on Self Sufficiency I've ever heard!! As a child I was Parentified as well as Infantalised as I navigated both my parents tumultuous behaviour, I was either their parent or their stress buffer. This led me to not know who I was, an individual in my own right. I've spent my whole life in the same Parent/Child dynamic in all my romantic relationships that turned into a Power Imbalance as I people pleased my way through to get back the love I didn't get from my parents. Now at 55 recently single and learning to take care of myself and get to know who I am. Thank you Emmy for this very poignant message. 🌟

One continues to check on you. One does not usually comment on videos. The videos are about togetherness and one is each influenced of word choice and objectivity as you. Less figurative one focuses on God and prays God does not influence the unworthy. One appreciates your closing of the video of you specifying “worthy” of a person existence made is as one is to be. Thanks again there. Reaching out how you do.

Age is just number..If there’s one book I think everyone should read this year, it’s keezano’s Your Life Your Game. It beautifully shows how connecting with God and building meaningful relationships can lead to spiritual growth, and success in both your personal and professional life. This book truly changed my life…a must-read🙏🏼

I like your metaphor about the 'taking care' and being the shepherd of ones life. This is alreaddy my way of locking at the old old house I'm living in, and the Dogs I care for. Now Will become more conscious about this way of thinking of my own life. Being the guardian of.my own life.... and seing it as a privilege!

When our spirits are a little lower than normal, the world becomes small, the path becomes blurred and enthusiasm is lost. How important it is to seek human reconnection, Listening to messages like this makes me look again at the great internal and external potential of a life waiting for us. Today I especially needed a message like this, I am immensely grateful for your kindness and time for us

Hi Emmy, I’m struck by the feeling that taking stewardship is so confined by the (im)possibilities of day to day life. My self-investigations would always start with asking what is possible -within those confines-. It feels strange to ask what it is that would make me feel vibrant and alive. You are challenging me to ask that question, thank you for that! ❤
My self care has changed a lot in the past decade. I am more myself. I care for myself in ways that others do not. Mostly diet and movement and mediation AND kindness to myself on days I want to rest and eat crisps and candy. "Everything in moderation including moderation".
