Original Hammonds (New B3 Series and XK5) have 3 Stages on each Key that sounds differrent. On other Organs or Keyboards that simulates a Hammond you don't have these. Not sure if Viscount Organs have this feature. But it's essential to know. The older real ToneWheel organs have very special feel and play due to their technical production techniques. If someone has the ability to try, DO IT!!! It's worth playing a real HAMMOND compared to "Fake"-Simulations on Synthesizers or Keyboards. Even NORD sounds ugly compared to a real HAMMOND. For Stage and light-weght users the SK-Range is suitable too. As Michael Falkenstein always prays: With Bass-Pedal and (real) Leslie only!

Dear Marine, I started with your fantastic tutorials today. I started with 5 levels of Pop Accompaniment, went well with the start, but when I had to insert my OWN accompaniments, like adding a sun 2 then a major 4th then Em then sus 4 then F : I am unable to carry it off. Is there some way I could have your insertions on a score? Your tutorials are the best because you give us a score to work from, not just the chords and progressions. I understand about the chords in Roman Numerals. I have heard that playing scales in MODES is helpful with Pop music - why is your opinion on this statement? Will you cover these at some stage? With warm wishes and lots of thanks, Joanne. 🥰

U are always playing the passing chord on strongest best. That, by definition, is not passing chord. The 3rd best in 4/4 and the Last beat in 3/4 is most effective. Besides, it is dictated by the melody notes being coloured. If the note clashes harshly with the passing chord then it isn't ok unless u deliberately do it.

Good stuff, Marine. I am not a beginner, more of an advanced intermediate. You make me think about stuff I already know (or should know) in different terms. Sometimes I wonder though, how far can you take these improvements before the progression doesn't sound like the progression anymore?
@OnlineRockLessons6 күн бұрын
Absolutely. It can go really far! I think we need to stay aware of the musical style we’re playing and try being tasty! Don’t add them all haha but can be interesting once in a while!
